Where were our last two goals of last night’s game kicked from?

It’s going to be a lot harder this time around because last time, they had Bailey and Zorko out.
We had Max out which was offset by Luke Jackson’s excellent game.

I would normally agree with those who say we shouldn’t whinge about poor umpiring but we’re due to play Geelong at Kardinia Park in 5 day’s time and the crowd will be just as partisan as the one we had at Adelaide Oval. A quiet word from Goody to the umpires advisor asking him to look at the adjudication won’t hurt. And yes, it’s the clash of the top two teams so we can expect some competent umpires to run the show.

The ruck is definitely an area that the club needs to be focused on and irrespective of what happens with Luke Jackson, we probably have to bring in two players who can play that role - one as a development player who can be moulded into a top line ruckman in years to come when Max retires and the other, as a back up ruckman who is physically ready to play in the ruck as cover for any injury to our main ruckmen.

He was so good!!!
Why are we still not looking out for more talent from that part of the world (apart from the AFLW players we’ve recruited)?

Yeah nah.
You're continually finding ways to sneak in little snide remarks still even months on.
Funny you how you mention Howes and JVR being in the same Academy game but also didn't mention they too had quiet ordinary games as well. Sneaky that you left that part out..
Kid lives rent free in your head.
Ha, ha … sounds more like he lives rent free in yours. WJ has always been fair in assessing Mac Andrew. Didn’t have to say anything about how they played that day because nobody hyped up the way they played. That’s the point he made.

Realistically I am interested in the picks 20 - 50 as I can’t see us featuring in round 1 or early round 2 unless we start trading players out and I just can’t see that happening with this team.??
Can’t agree with that. I think it’s almost certain that we’ll be in a position to trade out some surplus players and there’s always a chance that we’ll be forced to lose a player to free agency because of salary cap pressure.

LOL Eagles out partying before covid nightmare. Just made W.A News. Coach Simpson not happy
Well…for that reason and that reason alone, there should be no cancellation of the game. Let the players and the team reap what they’ve sowed!

Let’s not forget that because the Hawks are playing today in Tassie, Saturday’s game will be coming off a five day break. Hope the Swans give them a decent workout.

Cousin in Gippsland went to the Power vs Stingrays game in Morwell this afternoon. Says the locals were far too strong but Finn Emile-Brennan was excellent for the Stingrays.

Don’t forget Punch which is a bit Deakinesque
I’m reading Brett’s The Enigmatic Mr Deakin at present. It’s fabulous.
Who did this Deakin play for?

Inaccuracy in front of goal is the story of Melbourne’s women’s team since inception.

It must be a tough gig recruiting players for teams like the Casey Demons. Players have to compete against AFL listed players for places in the team and if the Demons have another good year with injury, there might only be 6 to 8 places available on a weekly basis. Those who don’t make it need to go back to their local team and wouldn’t get much of a chance for continuity. It’s a pity the money ran out for the VFL reserves or development league.

This won’t be easy.

Wow
Reckon Turner has put in size and weight to his frame pre season which is great news.
Also how much has RIV developed in size and bulk in 2 seasons ? A big lad developing before our eyes !!
A big tick to our development programs of the last few years !
PS bet Bowser has put on weight and size just can't see it yet!!
Disco Turner looks like he could play key position.

Not a case of a hurry or anything else. From what I’ve seen of JVR at training, he has the attributes if required for action.

The situation in the AFLW suggests that planning should already be made for situations where clubs are affected by the virus.
I think all clubs have a feeder team in the next tier of competition below the AFL eg VFL, SANFL, WAFL. Therefore, the AFL could introduce a Rookie Category C of up to 8 players who would be trained at their second tier clubs and elevated as Senior players as the need arises. In addition, for cases of special needs eg. where a suitable ruckman is not available on a club’s list, an application for elevation to a club’s list could be made from outside (including another clubs’ Category C list if the player is not being used).
All such elevations to Senior lists to be in blocs of three matches.
