  1. Harry Taylor 2 x premiership player 2 x AA Terrorised opposition forward lines for 170 games Was chased hard by other clubs when last out of contract. Has kicked 40 goals I'd say he's very lucky....you idiot.
  2. Cheats how? Taylor isn't always third man up, he has shut down a lot of key forwards. He can also go forward but what I like about him most is his ability to read the play and back himself to mark the ball which he does quite often rather than punch which can leave the ball in despute. We must be watching different games. Also reasonable disposal and a good decision maker.
  3. Taylor isn't overrated at all, he's a gun.
  4. Beats....I like your thinking. One thing I would add with regards to Grimes and Dawes as they are contracted until the end of next season is how much is left on their contracts. Grimes is in and out of the side and if Frost were up and about id like to think he was playing before Dawes. A couple of players are taking home ridiculous amounts of money and that should/will be considered when making these decisions.
  5. The Hawks would be in the mix, Mitch Clark was going home too. Hawks will land either Danger or Treloar.
  6. Aish for Dawes, they need a forward target. Dawes is a target, not a very good one but they may struggle to get anyone else. Prestia for pick and Grimes.
  7. Money of trade value?
  8. What about players not getting a game with the Giants, their NEAFL is dominating all be it a weaker league. Must be someone worth a look.
  9. For those that don't rate Aish have you considered the following - under developed - poorly coached - in and out of the side - injuries - weight of expectation considering his family's history - debut too early Or do those only apply to our players?
  10. Every player should be targeting their opponent every game and should expect to be targeted themselves. If he's carrying an injury he shouldn't be playing like Tyson.
  11. Here's a stat - ability to stand up and perform consistently under pressure. Could be measured in %. Sick of hearing a certain player is an "outside" player, is that meant to justify poor performances? Because plenty of other teams have outside players that play pretty consistent football. And to those who then hide behind "the coach praised this aspect of his game", is the coach going to hang him out to dry with media when he's obviously already mentally weak and potentially on the trade table at years end? This is not just about Watts it's about 1/3- 1/2 half the bloody list. We should simplify things and use the stat "not upto AFL standard and never will be" or "plays on his terms". I think we will win today and if we do I don't suddenly think everyone is untouchable because I've seen how these same players have performed against the Hawks/Swans/Freo. I just don't rate Collingwood that highly this year. Then we've got the chorus of "well if they're not motivated after listening to Neale they never will be" or the "this is our grand final" again both crap. How about they're highly paid sportsman, is that not motivation enough. Don't worry though because half the team will let us know when they're ready to have a crack.
  12. Remove the word "possible" with regards to those trades. They need to get done, well at least Howe/Dawes/Grimes to free up cash to put us in a better position.
  13. According to some on here Tom Boyd is a hack yet our players who have minimum five years behind them are.....
  14. Had to check.....Fitzy is out of contract at years end along with Toumpas, Howe and Garland.......interesting.
  15. With regards to Michie/Newton/Riley and the like. I think it's only fair that for the remainder of the season they are given a block of games to show their wares similar to Spencer/Gawn rather then in - out - in - out. Other players have been given years all be it under different coaches.
  16. I know respect is a two way street but the old "clubman" line is wearing thin.
  17. All comes down to what he's on, if he's on 350-400 ( purely a guess as he was captain and "had potential", because I'm stuffed if I know how we even spend 92.5% of the cap) we need to offload him. Can't have a depth player chewing up that much coin.
  18. All depends on front loading. Would love to know who's getting paid what.....
  19. Firstly how much is left on his contract has to be a factor. Secondly is there another VB out there.
  20. Grimes dropped again, who'd want him and what would we get? To be honest we all thought we had a player when we drafted him. He was Vic Metro captain but for whatever reason you choose to believe he is clearly not part of the coaching groups plans. Yes he's contracted for next year but as we know Goodwin will be part of list management discussions so he doesn't have the luxury of the new coach coming in. Get over the fact he's gone and think about what we can get.
  21. I don't work in an office I work in construction, I've worked with blokes who have nearly died, one bloke has lost his right arm another bleeding on the brain and possible limited mobility for the rest of his life. Sorry what was your point again?
  22. I think you'll find the club is no longer handing out buckets of cash to underperforming players. Some will find this hard to take and look elsewhere.....good luck with that.
