I’d be very disappointed if we lost either the Bombers or Saints this year. I know I keep banging on about this but how anyone thinks there’s enough talent for a 19th & 20th team is beyond me. There are some very ordinary footballers getting games.

We finished 4th last year with 16 wins & 4 losses. Regardless if the Pies win, it’s still difficult for either of these teams to make top 4. Swans finished 8th with 12.5 wins and 10 losses.

Pies winning is better for us. Lions chances of top 4 dwindling

I was looking at their teams today and didn’t recognise a few names from the Lions list and thought the same thing.

Lions v Pies is a real each way game in terms of multi betting. For some reason I thought Crows have a good record in WA?

Who of note is missing for Freo besides Darcy and Chapman? Currently 5 goals down to a supposed rabble in North. The 19th & 20th team can’t come soon enough, looking fwd to the end of this great game.

I’ve just read they’ll get similar picks to that of GCS & GWS but have to trade them for established players. Why would you? In all seriousness they might nab 1 maybe 2 established guns of the game on excessively massive contracts plus the reported sign on bonus, but look at what North has put together in just 2 drafts, Sheezel, Wardlaw, McKercher & Dursma. Would you rather those 4 kids in 4-5 years or what you traded for from other clubs.

I can’t understand how more people don’t see this is an issue. I believe the best thing to do is fold a current Victorian club, yes that’s an unpopular view and won’t happen. 18 clubs works, the AFL won’t stop at 19 they’ll have to make it 20. But don’t panic anyone just think how much more they’ll make at the next broadcast deal. We are not America, they have a population of 340 million we’re hovering around 25 million. Yes Tasmania deserve a team but it must come at the expense of an existing club.

So are they getting two years of compromised drafts? Where do we see our list during those 2 years being 2026 & 2027?
