The crappiest part is we can’t do anything unless we stop attending the footy. What we can do in the meantime is get our boys over the line on Friday night. They need us more than ever.

I hope like all of us Gus is well enough to attend on Friday night. Then I hope we catch a glimpse of him on the big screen and give him an almighty cheer. I just don’t know, only trying to think of something positive to say cause the aftermath like most, has left me sick in the guts.

I know it’s the way the game is played these days, but it’s very frustrating watching Petracca pace the boundary when waiting to come back on. I think he was off for 8 mins in the 3rd, maybe just keep him on the ground a little longer and play him one out in the goal square every now and then this week instead of giving him a spell. Who’s going to beat him with all that space?

I think he plays too and wasn’t as bad as some are suggesting. He made some real good leads and had 2-3 metres on his opponent and the ball just kept going in other directions. He worked really hard i thought.

Sorry to just single this out AF, but that is just about the most accurate thing posted on this thread. They know exactly who they are.

We are one of six left after today. It feels like the whole AFL landscape is against us, going all the way from here would be the sweetest thing ever. Our boys just don’t roll over no matter how many players we lose. Neither should we as supporters.

Feels like I’ve rewatched Dumb and Dumber the last two nights.

When they say ‘football act’ in regards to a smother it takes me back to Matty Whelan diving to smother and unfortunately breaking Nathan Brown’s leg. To me, Maynard dipping the shoulder into Gussy’s face isn’t a football act.

9.6!!! They kicked 9.6 and held on... FMD. I thought the winning team from last night would have one hand on the cup, I don't think so now. Problem with Thursday night games is the little sleep you get and you're still wired lol. Missed opportunity for sure and it hurts. Might get another 90k next week if it's Caaaarlton.

I understand everyone is frustrated, but this is one ugly postgame. Love the folks that came back here after a loss just to wind people up. This one is stinging a fair bit because the game was on our terms since half way through the second quarter. 25 points down at the last change in a low scoring affair is a massive lead, but you could sense our supporters knew it wasn’t over and we nearly got there. May and Maynard had a very interesting exchange in the middle of the ground after the game, a lot of pointing going on. Let’s not give up on the boys and hopefully a lot of us turn up next week.

The 2018 finals were big for the club and fans, but the game tonight feels like it’s the biggest for the MFC at the MCG since the lead up to the 2000 GF.
