A Day at the Races
Hi all. My two to fill the placings. No.3 Duca Valentinois. No.11 Plaisir. Good luck all.

A Day at the Races
Best Bet. Caulfield R6 No.1 Sunset Watch. TAB odds: $1.95 Apologies for the short odds gents, I’ve looked for the last few days and this horse came out on top. Tricky 2yr old set weights race but this colt is speedy and seems to hold his sprint well at the end. Two wins in a row and won well both times including one at the 1200m.

A Day at the Races
The best distance for Dan has been at the 1400m. The case could be that tomorrow’s race was always in the plans. He was scratched a fortnight ago or so on the day and the reason for running him last week over the 1000m after his first up run of 1200m could simply be they just wanted to give the horse a “run”. That’s my unqualified opinion on it anyway.

A Day at the Races
G’day Macca. All the races you listed at Hawkesbury have horses with high ratings, which is a guide i usually like to go by, but I feel the size of the field in the Hawkesbury Cup makes that particular race appealing for our trifecta special. As usual, happy with the majority of course. Dan Zephyr is back again. Caulfield R8 No.9. Over the 1400m this time. So this prep has gone 1200m - 1000m - 1400m. ? My mate has been busy lately, I would really like to hear his thoughts on this.

NHL
The scenes outside Air Canada Centre were awesome during the game this morning. Blue shirts everywhere. The game itself, bloody fantastic!!

Thank you and what about this....

So Saty is “ On Track “ again with the below.

Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
Not 100% sure but is that McCartney between Chaplin and Mahoney? Footage provided by @Lucifer's Hero a few days ago.

Only 10 more minutes and we can start the Game Day thread. Yippee!!!

A Day at the Races
I like it too, will run with it. When I joined this thread back in the spring it was on the back of Dan somewhat.

A Day at the Races
The Zephyr was never in the race. They were too nippy for him today. I’ve asked my mate why the drop back in distance but he hasn’t got back to me yet. I’m curious to see why trainers do that sometimes. Fellas, I’m really keen now on a name change. Showtime? Showtime Ted? The Showtime Skip?

A Day at the Races
70.45% Wadda. You’d be happy if your racehorse had a percentage like that.

A Day at the Races
Thanks for posting Macca. I heard after the race Trapeze Artist might head to the ‘The Everest’. Anyone hear something similar?
-
A Day at the Races
How about ‘WhyTheLongFace’ ? Appropriate for both threads or too gloomy?

A Day at the Races
Ha ‘Showtime’ is good. Dan has won at 1000m before, I still haven’t heard from my mate with some mail. Personally I’m unsure with the drop back in distance. For now, i have something little each way on him. I’ll study the race a little closer to the jump and will do a small first 4 or tri also.

A Day at the Races
Lol, ‘ The Skip’. I’m easy fellas, we can keep the same order until we fail ( we won’t though)or happy to go with majority. Yes, I have been thinking for a while to change my name on DL. Suggestions are welcome. Teddy was the nickname growing up.

NHL
Two great games back to back on TV this morning. Late drama in both with the Flyers and Avalanche keeping their respective series alive heading back home for game 6.

A Day at the Races
The DL trifecta works for the first time. What a battle that was down the straight. Very brave by Le Romain and we almost had a $10 winner in the tri. Showtime third by a nostril, phew.

A Day at the Races
Didn’t that rattle home Macca? Proved the last start win wasn’t a fluke. Nice odds for Seabrook, I thought Long Leaf was a winning chance but was stuck 3 wide the trip and had nothing left in the straight.

A Day at the Races
Lol, bolter alright.......maybe Trapeze Artist gets rolled and we still end up with the right combo. The former Japanese ( Satono Rasen) galloper creates some interest in the All Aged. Now with Waller and hasn’t won under 2000m.

A Day at the Races
Spot on Macca, I thought the horse would rail up and go whoosh, like the first two in Dothrakis race. Edit: I meant in the the Holy Snow Race.
-
A Day at the Races
Dothraki loomed as the winner but as the caller noted the horse’s run stopped quickly. Plenty of racing left to make amends.

A Day at the Races
Winning selections are in so here’s the final piece of the puzzle. Selections for 2nd and 3rd: 8. Tom Melbourne 11. Showtime Hartnell was the other obvious choice but I couldn’t fit 3 into 2 and wanted to add some value, not that it would make much of a difference anyway. As @Macca stated previously, members can add extra runners if they choose to do so.

A Day at the Races
It’s on Sunday Wadda. Race 7 3.50pm. I’ve looked on a couple of sites for odds but they’re not showing yet.

A Day at the Races
You’re up around Ballarat? I’ll flick you the old owners pass to head down to the track and get the Zephyr over the line. I also like the Best Bests so far. Maybe, just maybe they will salute to lift the mood on Demonland this week.
