  1. It took me about 4 hours to watch the replay last night. I had to rewind it every time Oliver touched the ball just so I can comprehend what he actually does. We can’t say enough about this kid, except that he’s ours. I voted for Jesse as the best young player but what’s higher than exceptional talent?
  2. Thanks Wadda. Haven’t looked at scratchings yet. Time to take the green vest off. Mooney Valley Race 2 No.1 William Thomas TAB Odds: $2.40
  3. Apologies If it’s been asked already dc but where can one find these figures?
  4. A bit of an update from Richard Bensley this morning on Sky. The two comments I found most interesting are below. • Enticing Star. Race 6 No.8 Odds $1.20. The gun Perth mare is unbeaten after her five career starts and is a must watch tomorrow. Connections did consider taking the horse to either Sydney or Melbourne for the spring but those plans are on hold at this stage. Horse is more likely to feature in Perth’s summer carnival contesting mares races. • Osborne Bulls. Currently sitting 19th in the official order of entry for the Stradbroke to be run next week. The field runs at 16 with Cummings hoping a few horses drop out for the horse to gain a start. If it doesn’t run they will take it to the paddock. Currently $11 for the Stradbroke.
  5. Best Bet: Rosehill Gardens R7 No.6 Seaway TAB Odds: $ 3.20 Romped it in at Canterbury two starts ago over the 1550m and was a beaten favourite last start when coming back to the 1400m where the colt settled last and produced a barnstorming finish down the outside to miss by 0.5 of a length. The winner on that occasion got all the luck on the inside which proved the difference in the end. The horse will appreciate racing at the 1500m and should enjoy the perfect run after drawing barrier 5. I expect this colt to be too strong for these over the final stages. Obvious danger is I Am Serious (2) but it has to contend with barrier 12.
  6. Nice, tips are in nice and early. I have my backup in case of scratchings in the morning. Actually @Macca what time do the Perth scratchings come through on Saturdays? I’ll make sure the phone is fully charged at the footy anyway.
  7. Battle Hero (4) for me fellas.
  8. G’day Macca. Like the Village People and Pet Shop Boys..... ā€ Go Westā€ for me.
  9. I wasn’t aware and it might have been posted already but we are actually undefeated in 19 consecutive quarters. We drew the quarter prior to commencing the run of 18 winning ones.
  10. Over the last 5 weeks we are number 1 in 16 categories. The statistics Melbourne ranks No.1 in from rounds six to 10 STATISTIC MELBOURNE NEXT-BEST Kicking efficiency 69.8% Brisbane 67.8% Kicking efficiency differential +6.5% Brisbane +3.8% Disposal efficiency 74.8% Collingwood 74.7% Marks inside 50 18.8 Richmond 13.6 Marks inside 50 differential +10.4 Port Adelaide +4.2 Contested possession differential +21.6 West Coast +13.4 Clearance differential +9 Fremantle +6 Inside 50s 65.2 Richmond 61.2 Scores per inside 50 49.1% West Coast 48.2% Goals per inside 50 31% West Coast 28.5% Points for 133 Richmond 98.6 Intercept points 84 Richmond 68.8 Clearance points 44.6 West Coast 32.6 Defensive half to score 19% Richmond 14.7% Consecutive quarters won 18 West Coast 15 Offensive one-on-one win 39% GWS 35.7%
  11. We are 17th for Rebound 50s but that doesn’t indicate a struggle, quite the opposite really. The bottom five clubs for this stat also includes West Coast and Richmond.
  12. Maybe I’m imagining it but does Viney look like he’s faster over the ground than previous years?
  13. What’s happening at Doomben? I heard they are repositioning the rail. TAB site is telling me 45 minutes now until the next race.
  14. Yes Wadda, Lean Mean Machined out of here.?
  15. Where have you been mate?? Straight off the bat. $12 winner, well done.
  16. Out of Sebring and Black Caviar, that would have been a cheap exercise ?. Ran on well late after slightly missing the start.
  17. Funny that, I just received a text containing a few tips for the day and Andaz was one of them.
  18. Number 6 Naval Warfare. It was my second pick for the win so it’s worked out in the end.
  19. Best Bet: Doomben Race 5 No.3 Zousain TAB Odds: $3.10 Drawn nicely and McEvoy booked to take the ride again. He’s ridden the horse to both career wins to date and his last victory looked soft in the end. Settled back and showed a devastating turn of foot upon straightening to reel in the leaders quickly and finished off with the old ā€œhands and heelsā€ method. I believe this horse has plenty more to offer, certainly looks a star of the future.
  20. You’re spot on Macca, Doomben is shaping up as a really good day for racing. I had a look at the whole card a short time ago and there are some terrific races. I have a selection for the McKell Cup. I’m going for a value runner in No.5 Lovani. Edit: Did I go too early? Wadda hasn’t declared his pick yet I see.
  21. Impending for the trifecta fellas. I don’t mind throwing in a pick for the McKell as well Macca.
  22. I’m happy with any of the 3 Macca, here’s my order of preference in case a ā€œtiebreakerā€ is required. 1. McKell Cup - Randwick 2. Kingsford-Smith Cup - Doomben 3. Queensland Oaks - Doomben
  23. Hold your horses!! You’re wondering on the right track Macca. Spoke to mate today and they are considering giving the Zephyr one more run with the blinkers on. Admittedly the win was in a weak field of 4 and had the horse lost it would have been in the paddock definitely. Will provide further updates soon. Will check out the trifecta options when I get home a little later.
  24. Thanks Macca. Paging @Diamond_Jim who showed support for the Zephyr!! Finally a win mate!
  25. I’m very happy for the ā€œ The Day at the Racesā€ crew to finally see the Zephyr win. He turned back the clock with that win. Happy resting Dan!
