I did actually see that to qualify option on a machine at the tab DZ. Wasnt sure what it meant.
Thatâs probably the best option when it comes to knockout rounds. Just pick the team you think will go through to the next round. Slightly smaller odds of course but a simple way nonetheless.Â

Always like a good tip DZ. Yep 61kg in the mud is a great start! Is this the same sauce that said we would thrash Peru?
Haha, weâll find out soon enough Wadda. Iâm taking the tips in a place multi, some good value. Around $7 for an all-place multi.Â
There is a method of result betting option available on Tab for the soccer. Pick your team to win in extra time, penalties, full time, siesta time, whatever pleases you mate. There was a  â To Qualifyâ  option on games but I canât see it in the markets. That was always a good option to avoid the dreaded draw.

You'd reckon that sooner or later we'd get the 3 up Wadda ... and today is as good a time as any!
I got on last night @ 55-1 (boosted)Â Just as well too as Sayed has come right in due to the scratchings in that race.Â
I also llike 'I'm a Rippa' as my each-way chance in the Glasshouse Hcp (Sunshine Coast Race 9) ... currently showing $6.50 & $2.30
Got some tips fellas and I donât usually receive them often. No comment in the text just races and numbers. Iâll post them anyway just to test out the source.
Rosehill R5 No.1 La Chica Bella
I notice the horse will carry 61kg on the Soft. Good start.
Rosehill R8 No.13 Mapmaker
Morphetville R3 No.5 CanfordÂ

I reckon that was it after that tournament ... the wash-up was that teams became too defensive rather than more attacking. The law of unintended consequences kicked in DZ.
But reducing the players on the pitch might create more goal scoring chances and thus, any given game can be (in theory) decided by the sport being played out to a finish.Â
But I may as well be howling at the moon as the penalty shoot-out is here to stay - most people are rusted on to the concept.Â
That was it for the rule Macca after the tournament. Greece was ultra defensive throughout that tournament anyway.
They did toy with the idea of reducing players during extra time. I wouldnât mind it but the fatigue it would cause was a concern to some. Unfortunately like you, I canât see penalties vanishing any time soon.
Like you stated, the NHL altered the rules during overtime in the regular season to avoid the dreaded shoot-out. Itâs now 3 on 3 and that works a treat.Â

Do you recall the implementation of the Silver Goal rule in Euro 2004?Â
If a team was leading by the end of the first half of extra time the game would end. I remember it vividly, you could argue it helped Greece win the tournament and possibly costing the Czechs the tournament at the same time.Â

If we get enough having a go we could have a mini comp
1pt for every round of 16 winner, 2 pts for every QF winner, 3 points for each SF winner & 5 points for predicting the winner of the final. One batch at a time.Â
What do you reckon DZ?
Iâm more than happy with that system Macca and if others join it should be some good fun.

Iâll give it a go @Macca.
France v Argentina.
Uruguay v Portugal
Spain v Russia
Croatia v Denmark
Brazil v Mexico  ( Hoping more than anything)
Belgium v Japan
Sweden v SwitzerlandÂ
Colombia v England

Caulfield:
Race 7 No 3 Usain Bowler TABÂ $4.40 .......I heard it on the radio as a certainty.

Haha, the Weir runner belongs to a couple of blokes from work. Captain Harry Wadda. I prefer yours though. Nice pick!

Understandable last 10 minutes with Japan passing it around back. But for Poland to barely give chase at 1-0 and not seek to give their fans some exciting moments before they depart (Like Korea did) was just poor attitude and offensive to watch. Glad we've seen the back of Poland. Hope the Netherlands and Italy return in 4 years in their place. As for yellow cards? I reckon that's 'fair', so long as reffing is consistent, more yellows usually means you've illegally stymied opposition attacks with sloppy defence.
I might be a bit biased with my background but Iâd love to see Greece compete on the world stage again. A bit stiff to miss out this year, conceded only 3 or 4 goals throughout qualifying and then a hot Croatia hammers them with 4 in the first playoff match in Croatia.Â
Intriguing Round of 16 ahead. Iâve had a small wager on Mexico to win it. So glad they drew Brazil.

One does not begrudge Japan their success of they progress but this is a poor group.
Poland ranked 8 have not fired a shot... far worse than Germany
Senegal and Colombia are ranked 27 and 16 respectively with Japan at 61
If no goals are scored the two lowest ranked teams will progress to the next round with the to team being decided on the number of yellow cards.
And of course 2 minutes after I post the above Poland scores?
Haha, both games now 1-0. The instructions to the Japanese would be simple right now. No more yellow cards. I had no idea that âFair Playâ was a tiebreaker.

Wow, VAR again.
Penalty awarded to Senegal then overturned and Iâm not sure why. Commentator mentioned an arm being flung back at Sanchez as to the possible reason but to me Sanchez had already started sliding and made contact with the knee prior to the Senegalese arm making contact and hardly any contact at that.

Best Bet.
Sunshine Coast:
Race 7 Number 2 The Bostonian $3.40
Terrific win last week when leading all the way. On a day when they were reeling the leaders in quickly I thought the win was quite impressive. Has won at Caloundra previously and the trainer  believes the backup wonât be an issue.Â
Also, a couple of work colleagues have a small share in a horse called Captain Harry.Â
Heâs going around in Race 7 at Caulfield. The fellas are excited as itâs the horseâs first city grade run. It had a midweek run at Sandown a few starts back but nothing beats a Saturday in town. Itâs racing well of late in the lower grades and you never know. Itâs around the $10 mark. By no means is this a tip, only an added interest. The good thing about this horse is the fact itâs still a colt. Hopefully they can get lucky and win a couple of decent races.

Article on AFL site about Trac.

The following stood out.Â
Â
All I want to focus on at the moment is just doing what Simon tells me to do, playing my role as that half-forward by putting a lot of pressure on. It's stuff that probably doesn't get recognised, but it does get recognised inside the four walls."

The Cup that keeps on giving. Unbelievable drama to finish off Group B. You canât script this stuff. Missed penalties, VAR intervention, cracking goals.Â
Iran almost sent Portugal packing, a one on one at the death and fluffs the shot wide. Iran would have topped the group. Agony!!

Wow. Germany with the late free kick goal. Poor Sweden. Another great game. Gee this world cup is really kicking the AFL's arse for spectacle.  Every one of them entertaining in the least and gripping, intense and nail biting at best. Loving the fluidity of ball movement.
Unbelievable. Heartbreaking for the Swedish fans. This is turning out to be one hell of a tournament with so much more still to play out.
Mexico is my âSmokeyâ, never underestimate the Central Americans. âChicharitoâ with his 50th international goal for the Mexicans.Â

And Merchant Navy wins it for Australia!~ ... and I got the trifecta! Win/win. You little beauty!
Redkirk was a little disappointing but we got the win. The favourite 'Harry Angel' played up in the stalls something chronic, missed the start but was a beaten horse before they jumped.Â
But the story is about Merchant Navy the new wonder horse. Fought hard to the line with enormous spirit to overcome the French dasher 'City Light'. Aiden O'Brien (the horse-whisperer) does it again.Â
Here's the replay of the Diamond Jubilee Stakes ...

Â
Well done Macca.
Phew, that was a tight finish. The caller thought â City Lightâ nosed out âMerchant Navyâ.
Thanks for posting the replay. Nice trifecta divvy on the Vic tote.Â

A Day at the Races
in Other Sports
Well Wadda, two tips in and we have tasted the sauce. Tastes like mustard. The horse with 61kg tired, no surprise though.Â
