  1. The strongest back line IMO. FB: Whelan Carroll Bell HB: Bizzell Rivers Petterd / Bartram Players missing from the best 22: Pickett, Whelan, Moloney, Rivers, Bartram
  2. "Good on him for thinking like that, there's nothing wrong with thinking like that. It just reflects that he's got a lot of confidence in his team so that's not such a bad thing"- Daniher. Well said Neale.
  3. I'm fascinated by cryptic puzzles, mainly because I'm hopeless at them. Can you explain this one?
  4. The best defense is a good offense. Melbourne's highest scoring quarters (second and third) were also Adelaide's lowest scoring quarters.
  5. Because he is a bloody good footballer. I'm not saying that I would necessarily want him, but there are a lot of positives that go with his negatives.
  6. Girls must go crazy when you whisper that in their ear...
  7. Have you got a stat for long and direct kicks? The fact is that Melbourne played a much more attacking style of play. Do you agree?
  8. This was the first game (not including the last quarter against the Kangaroos) that Melbourne predominantly used long and direct kicking.
  9. I have a feeling that they will drop Bizzell. They shouldn't. But they will.
  10. That's why when someone makes a poll asking a simple question, people can elaborate on why they have made that decision in the forum below.
  11. We all (including you Nasher) make calls on players. How is that any different? I understand what you're saying, but when you go to the games and see how damn obvious the mistakes Daniher makes are, it's not hard to see where the heart of Melbourne's problems lie.
  12. It's not rocket surgery. The decisions that Daniher makes seem to fail an awful lot and he does apparently know the "reasoning or logic" behind them. It's funny that in three quarters of football (last quarter vs Kangaroos, second and third quarters against Adelaide) when Melbourne opt for a style of play that doesn't involve "tempo" or "runs and curry" and instead focuses on long kicks and fast movement into a forward line with forwards in it (it's crazy, I know) that Melbourne suddenly play well. But Daniher does not employ these tactics more often. If Daniher is coach next year, then I just hope that the Kangaroos win the flag because at least then he'll copy a game plan that suits Melbourne.
  13. Neitz did. When he kicked the ball backwards forty metres which in turn resluted in a boundary throw-in just outside Adelaide's forward fifty, after Neitz originally had it 60 metres out from Melbourne's goal.
  14. Fact: - We can see the tactics that Daniher implements. - We can see the players he chooses or doesn't choose to play. - We can see the number of players he puts in the forward line. - We can see the match ups he decides.
  15. I too would like to say sorry. I can't believe I ever questioned "runs and curry"...
  16. Some people have extremely short memories...
  17. I managed to get one thing right with my 2007 predictions : Back in Bizness http://demonland.nozzs.org/forum/index.php...409&hl=2007
  18. Another great post Hards. But what's even better is your signature. Brilliant.
  19. Like I said, I ran out of time and the only reason I bumped this thread so as not to create another one on the same topic. Moreover, I wanted to see whether or not people had the same optimism about Jamar now like they did last year.
  20. What was the full team?
  21. It's for that reason that I would like to see Wheatley on a wing.
  22. That's not the problem, Godfrey is just better than him...
  23. The thing that must be remembered is that this season is not the first time Melbourne have played this "crud" football. We saw it against the Kangaroos last year, against Adelaide last year and in the second half against St Kilda (the first game) last year just to name a few. Before injuries were a major concern.
