Marking is the most underrated skill in finals, thank god for Joel Smith up forward.

Hibberd would be so much better than Salem right now.
-
Pickett has been an absolute liability.
He will get weeks and so he should.
-
Schache as the sub while Hibberd and Grundy are sitting there (both should be in the staring 22).

No Grundy or Hibberd, bonkers.

If we are going to have a tall as a sub surely it’s Grundy?
Jesus.

The rumour of Gawn being a late withdrawal will not die a death.
In reality Gawn would have to have one of his legs amputated in order to miss tonight.
Even then Goodwin wouldn't play Grundy.

Let's see how our one ruckman with a sore toe goes tonight.

Still petrified we don't have enough tall marking options after Collingwood destroyed us in that area last week and going in with only one ruckman who has a sore toe.

Need to avoid being the first team in the current finals system to go out in straight sets two years in a row.
Wild to think we haven’t won a final since 2021.

Really reckon they should have picked Grundy for this one. Max resting at FF isn't a bad shout at all, he competes hard and would probably nullify their tall interceptors. At his best he can dominate the F50, remember 3rd quarter of the PF 2021? Anyway, not gonna happen now.
They've picked a heck of a time to gamble so radically with the forward/ruck setup. Losing Jackson has absolutely put us backwards way worse than I ever anticipated.
Statistically Grundy was almost identical to what Jackson was on 2021. Granted, Jackson is a better forward but not by a lot.
The problem is Gawn has struggled playing with a second ruck.

Gawn’s toe is 100% fine I hope.

Yikes. So when Tmac is rucking we have no tall forwards.
The crazy part is Collingwood dominated us early with their marking while we couldn’t catch a cold.

No Grundy is so dumb.
No idea why Hibberd has been dropped, he was excellent last week but assume he will at least be the sub.
Jordon no thanks.

Why the hell would we not bring Grundy in and drop Hibberd?
Team selection is by far the coaching department’s biggest weakness.
Turner in as a forward in a final because of one scratch match?
Bloody hell.

Hickey’s retired mate
Well whoever their ruck is.

Trust Sydney to turn him back into an All-Australian ruck again.
They will have him and Hickey working together like a well-oiled machine.

Out: JVR, Brayshaw, Laurie
In: Grundy, Spargo, Tomlinson
Despite all the players out, I still had trouble fitting everyone in.
This is a team that can beat Carlton:
FB: Hibberd May Bowey
HB: Rivers Lever Salem
C: Langdon Sparrow Hunter
HF: Chandler Gawn ANB
FF: McDonald Fritsch Petracca
Foll: Grundy Oliver Viney
Int: Spargo Smith Pickett McVee
Sub: Tomlinson

Blaming the player who was kicking the ball for running into another player screams desperation.

The Deebrief analysis on this was spot on.
Take the spoil out for a moment, in the end he jumped in the air and bumped Brayshaw.
Finally, not sure if it’s been mentioned at all but before the first bounce Maynard was carrying on like peanut. he lined Fritsch up and was trying his whole tough guy brevado so clearly he was in that kind of mood.

Good thing we have Grundy.
People are laughing at this but I’m not joking!
How lucky are we to have an All Australian ruck just waiting in the wings.

I don’t disagree with this but not having players forward of the ball capable of taking a contested mark contriubtes a lot this.
