We need to bring in some youth. Case closed. Any one can see that we are lacking the spark and passion of youth. I would hope we trade out some of our fringe for draft picks. I am duck to death of bringing in other teams sloppy seconds. Have we no dignity.
Jeez you've had some zingers today. You either have nfi or you're leaving it late to troll

Dear everyone questioning if we've improved,
Get your head out of the sand. We have had a percentage over 100 all year until today), beaten 2 teams in the top 8, lost to 2 others by less than a goal and another 2 by less than 4 goals. On top of that we've won in Adelaide, perth, Darwin and the gold Coast. Until today, we had only lost 1 game by more than 40 points, to Sydney before the bye.
If you truly think we haven't improved, well go and watch a bit of footage from round matches in 2013 before roos took over, or even his first year in charge. Today was pitiful obviously, but there haven't been many teams this year that haven't been absolutely thumped at some stage. It's a long season, we've frequently fielded one of the youngest average aged teams most weeks as the older, more experienced players were part of the reason why we had been so poor leading to this year.
We've drafted in some absolute super talented youmg platerzs, but these super talented young players are still young. There will be speed bumps in the road until guys like hunt, petracca, Weiderman, hogan, oliver, Brayshaw and omac get to 50-80 games. You don't just become a seasoned experienced player in your first or second year. We see it with mcdonald, watts and jetta who have all ridden inconsistencies until the 100 game stage.
Go outside, kick a rock around the street for a bit and cool down , we have improved immensely under roos tenure and next year we will improve again with more training, more development in the gym and more Simon Goodwin led stability.
Go dees.

The only thing I can think of to put an effort like that in, is the washing machine was broken so the team manager informed the players not to get their guernseys dirty.
I never lose my cool, yet today screamed at my TV at least 5 times.
No doubt we will beat geelong now and finish the year off well, but that was limp, listless and quite frankly disgusting in the acknowledge of effort.

Had heard whispers through this year we were chasing Maynard. Now either the message I heard was crossed and it was this Maynard, or we are keeping a close eye on his Collingwood brother also.

And now he is our fourth rising star nominee for the year!
Congrats oscar, just rewards for your efforts this year. Maybe now some other "supporters" on here can start getting behind you more.

Ps if this is port "fired up" then absolute laugh out loud at your joke of a club.
Still dirty at boak hitting hogan behind play, but fark em

Travis boak you are a dog human. Pi chef hogan in the nuts on the wing behind play. Made hogan angry and he went and told him about it.
I lip read"do that again and I'll beep beep you beep"

Couldn't be better conditions for footy. No wind, clear night, no dew.
Behind the g, adelaide oval is the best viewing for footy. Dees boys just walked off looking very confident, do not look intimidated at all. We haven't won a lot here over last 3 years, but we have taken it up to adelaide amd port each visit and won in 2014. Looking forward to it, go dees.

For those of you who may be still worried about our prospects, fear not.
Melbourne are undefeated under lights this year (3-0)*
*disclaimer, Rd 7 win at metric on started at 4.40pm, but we won't the second half under lights by 11 goals

You can be as quick as you want, but if you can't find the footy...
Another o'rourke in my view. Gws will no doubt get a pick around 12-20 but I just don't see this guy possessing enough outside of "pace" to make it.
If we were to ask about a gws player this year, it would be Paul Ahern. Ruptured acl late in 2015 so would be ripe for start of pre season, although contracted until end of 2017, could be valued about 15-25. Again, a high price but I think he has more weapons than whe

According to the AFL Rioli's bump on Oliver was one of the "best moments" of the round.
Pretty clear that he won't get cited.
I can't imagine the outcry if it had been the opposite. Clarry has had a few interesting moments this year, bitten and now this. He strikes me as a lad who doesn't forget things in a hurry.

When is he out of contract? Very important re-signing. You never hear much about Dom and his love of the club, unlike some others
He won't leave. Out of contract next season and isn't a real extrovert type when it comes to that stuff. Loves the playing group amd gets on exceptionally well with coaches.

Where do people rate Tyson now? Anyone rate him yet? Has had an outstanding and, dare I say it, 'elite' second half of the season. Averaging 25 disposals this year too (career best). I reckon he's going to be special, because when he's on song he's a goal kicking mid and they're worth their weight in gold.
Imagine him playing alongside a more experienced midfield too.
Funnily enough, all season I've thought dom has been going well, and compare him a lot to rory Sloane. So I just used footywire to compare the averages, rory averages 1 kick more a game, similar marks, scores and score involvements and only 2 tackles less a game.
His numbers seriously stack up this year.

BTW Derwayne, read this from the AFL website,
A COMPOSED Dom Tyson slotted back-to-back goals to ice Melbourne's giant-killing win over Hawthorn, but was just content to play his part in the biggest victory of his career.
In a performance that Demons coach Paul Roos lauded as "elite" by the midfielder, Tyson amassed 30 possessions (13 contested) and was particularly influential when the game was on the line.
Salem also says Hi.
We could fill numerous threads with "in your face" type replies "redleg". But I personally prefer to sit back and watch these demon pessimists eat warm humble pie.
Would like to get barretts opinion on that trade now too. Only 6 weeks ago I recall he was questioning it again. But you and I both know he will be unable to admit he got that wrong countless times.

It's no coincidence we won this in member appreciation week, roosys last home game, and after the west coast "beat them but lost the score board."
That was for us supporters and that was a reminder that we are on the up. We are going places

This is why we play.
Anyone still think we haven't improved?
I've been happy before, but I've rarely been "we just destroyed Hawthorn on top of the ladder and we lost 13 in a row to them" happy.

The news I got at the best and fairest, from another of our players who was tight with jesse-
He was absolutely staying until about July. Since then he's gotten homesick and is more likely to leave than stay. This player said it's his gut feeling he will make that known at the exit meetings, which will be had after Casey finish the finals.
