  1. ??? rubbish or distrust as to the agenda of the postor, who could be a board member or the like, who doesn't want top fight it out thru the courts. Maybe trying to sell the idea to supporters thru the forums.

Maybe the insider has already agreed with the "powers that be" to accept the prescribed penalty & go quietly. with only a small pantomime to play out for the footy supporter?

Mate 'those in the know' on Demonology know that Deegirl is usually on the money, or to remove the cliche, she has in the past, actually passed FACTS about our footy club.

Your post above is pure paranoia based on the drivel you've read in the media and crackpot 'I post therefore I am' Demonland philosophy. Deegirl logs on to pass on information about the world as it actually exists.

  2. Here we go again, more paranoia.

Move along Deelanders nothing to see here!

Im pretty sure that if the club was about to be charged along with Larry Curly and Moe that Caroline would break the story before you.

Any chance you could publish facts instead of speculation? Who are your sources?
Deeg is a troll, if she was not talking bs she would stay and reply to other post, and if it is so, then carlton is next, also anderson would still be there to take the gory to tell the world he was right to start the investgatiaon.d
So.....It takes only one poster to cause panic and hand wringers to abound.......The Prez has stated that we will fight for the integrity of the club to the hilt......I belive him....
It is interesting that on the 'ology site this is all she posted. "Just posted this on Demonland - looks like the AFL will officially charge MFC, Connolly, Bailey & Schwab with tanking."

Nothing else and no replies at all !!!!!!!

Let me get my head around this. An anonymous poster (as are we all) claims to have “sources” that have given her an exclusive bombshell concerning the MFC. This source is apparently superior to any that the mainstream media have since they have made no comment. It also apparent that Caro, who would give her left [censored] for this exclusive, has been scooped.

Remarkably this rumour draws around 100 responses many of which give it credence.

If that isn't silly enough, some are discussing what penalty we will get.

You have got to be kidding me!

Really, someone who created a profile in August with just 4 posts to their name and all four posts have been extremely negative to the MFC.

    My spidery senses are tingling!

I'll belive it when I see it

Goes to show the pack mentality around here. Unless you have a couple of thousand posts to your name, everything you say is rubbish!

  3. Posted this elsewhere but:

Just drove past Princess Park and saw the boys completing what I assume was the 3km time trial. Stuck my head out the window and cheered the boys on.

Nicho and a larger figure (maybe Tom Mc) up front, Trenners, Jones and Bail all together about 50 meters back. Big mob not far behind. Did notice Pederson, Blease there also as was Watts. These are just the players I noticed, I'm not going to say who was coming last as this place gets hysterical on info like this.

Craig and others at the finish line. Good to see at this time of year.

  5. Why have we all got so crazy about getting this 26 year old Werribee player?

I am going to go out on a limb and say that the one thing that has changed at the Melbourne football club in the last year is that we have worked towards creating a system where we can better develop the players that come to the club.

Misson, Craig and a suite of assistant coaches who have come from clubs that have a good track record with developing players to enter the afl system will nodoubt have an impact on our ability to develop players like never before. If this puts us on a path to become a bit more like Sydney and Geelong then I'd like to think that we can begin to trust that we will get the most out of players no matter where we have come from.

I am sure that initially some of the draft selections that Sydney and Geelong have made in the past have been highly scrutinized by their supporters. Richards, Mcglynn, Mattner at Sydney. J Pod at Geelong. People laughed when the Pies took Brown and what did people have to say about Gunston who played almost purely in the SANFL in 2010?

I think our game plan is on the move and we are seeking people like Pederson and Ray to play a very specific role. Sorry long winded answer to your question.

  6. If we were to get 33 for Martin I'd be happy to hold that pick for the draft. I would have thought it'd be overs for Martin and Pederson. Perhaps it's more likely to be offered their following pick and Karnezis thrown in. The following pick could then be used to trade on and we could keep or trade Karnezis to a pre-agreed club. Just a thought, but would love to score 33 for Martin.

  7. Could Karnezis play a role in the Martin trade in any way? Possibly to on-trade so that we keep a pick? Was said to be a bit of interest in him by a few teams and is apparently desperate to return to Victoria. Could see us accept Brisbanes later pick if he was included perhaps. I quite like him as a developing mid.

  8. One of the more interesting things Cam Mooney had to say during his time on Trade Radio yesterday was surrounding the effect the big Q would have had on the Magpies forward line. It's generally excepted that Q was recruited to fulfill the 'Leigh Brown role', which as we know relied upon Cloke and Dawes. Mooney thought the recruitment of Q makes the trade of Dawes kind of seem strange. They are obviously either not pursuing the same tactic/set-up or as some have suggested the salary cap has forced Dawes to be offloaded

Anyway I would see with our pursual of Pederson we are seeking a forward structure similar to Collingwoods of 2010. Clark playing the Cloke role, Dawes playing his and Pederson the Leigh Brown gig.

Who else in our side will play a role in our forward half will be interesting. I'd love to see Pettard involved, obviously Byrnes will. Howe as the Fasolo type, Barry as a future crumber. Who else? Williams, Blease?

  9. Interesting to read on the Superfooty feed that Carlton were seriously into Dawes. As were the Dogs of course, easy to think sometimes that we got him simply because we offered something. We competed and won.

My uncle-in-law is filthy at the fact that we might snare Pederson. Believes he has simply been caught behind a few lesser players and been forgotten.

I've got a good feeling about us next year. I'm not going to bat on about finals but I think we'll be that word that Dean Bailey kept talking about that begins with 'c'.

  10. This guy and Watts working the ball out off the back half is what we need. Broughton over Ray anyday for me. Lyon moved him out of position on a number of occasions this year which didn't help him. He is a role player and out recruiting thus far shows me that that is the game plan we are building. Seems to me to be a player who Ross Lyon doesn't have a spot for, last player he let fall out of St Kilda has gone alright for the Pies.

  11. Get out, don't come onto this beautiful forum and go mouthing off. The amount of work the moderators have to do is absolutely enormous, and generally with any gratitude.

If you're not happy leave the website, I'm sick of you already.

    Your delightful!

  12. I would not pay $800.000 for a house valued at $600.000 - just because I really like it.

Similarly I would expect that our club wont pay out a pick #3 for a player who is ranked somewher around #8.

A club with some steel would let it be known that they will NOT be using #3 of Viney. If the Gold Coast want to let Viney do his apprenticeship with them (as Scully did with us) then lets have the balls to let them. If jack still loves us by late 2014 then he can nominate for the draft on a one year contract requirement. It would be a brave club that would risk that would take him then.

Jacks serious years will be 2015 forward - its a tough business - no big deal if he shapes up elsewhere.

Meanwhile we get the 3rd best pick in the imminent draft & Viney back in 18 months.

Call the bluff & MORE IMPORTANTLY dont allow the message that we are a weak club who geneflects to a bluff.

    Get some steel MFC.

Hey Todd. That article [yesterday H/Sun] where your son faced down the club was professionally dumb. You & your kid get respect. Try giving it back.

When was the last draft in which the rankings afforded but 'Draft Experts'and the clubs themselves held firm?

There is not a single year in which the top 5 players drafted turned out to the the top 5 players immemorial.

  13. Did I read somewhere that Toumpas had a 'worsening' hip injury?

And herein lies the great conundrum.

Jack Viney is a known quantity to us, so why all the pathetic angst about spending a high draft pick on him?

I'll tell you why: Beacase no club has ever had to use a top ten draft pick on a father-son selection.

And why is it that we have to be the first to do so?

BEACUSE WE WERE [censored] THIS YEAR and thus were rewarded with a top ten draft pick!

Get over it my friends and shed your welfare mentality you'll feel all the better for it.

  14. I am very happy to hear and see this.

If Cale wants i will pack his locker for him and arrange the flight or bus to where ever he goes.

Thank you Cale for a complete waste of a top 5 draft pick.

In all your years at the club you put on next to no bulk and showed the workrate of a peanut.

Whoever he goes to, i apologize in advance.

This post says more a out the type of person you are than it does Cale.

    Hero.

  15. Watched Cale closely this year and he was clearly making an effort to up his contested football, but it was to no avail. He is almost irreversibly soft, and as much as he might try to get involved and get under a few packs, which he did try to do, it will take a better club than the MFC to turn him around. This isn't really a knock on Cale the person, as most of us mere mortals aren't cut out for it, but it is a knock on Cale the AFL footballer, and unless you are sublimely skilled and lightning quick, you can't survive at this level with his 'softness'.

Put out the press release that he is seeking a new home to make it look like we are still keen on him, and then cut the rope and take what we can get. Sorry if that seems harsh, but that is the way I see his career.

Forest this kind of articulates how I feel about Cale. You've really hit the nail on the head for me with you comments. Some of us are up for it and some of us aren't. Part of me thinks we should allow him to see his contract out but the other part of me would like to cut our losses and take a punt on a VFL player who can fill a hole.

  16. It is with Pedersen that my interest lies at the moment. Other possible targets can come and go but for me this guy reeks of a player starved of opportunities (not to compare him as a player, but the opportunities given to Gunston this year might possibly serve as a guide). He would play a defined role, is in our age bracket and could also come at a bargain price allowing us room in the salary cap to chase bigger fish next year while filling a hole in our forward line.

I was happy to read Nudge's positive comments earlier an will be happier if we can bag this bloke next week.
