  1. Almost feels like gaining back the first rounder we traded away in the Lever deal. Lever + Bradtke for two (hopefully) late first rounders Glad to read that Geelong and Collingwood were into him. I hope they are crying in their cornflakes.
  2. 204 centimeters, athletic, still growing, great sporting pedigree. Our player development has done a complete 180 from the dark day and is now looking elite, so its hard not to be a little excited about this kid. We should all be glad he chose the MFC over other clubs, as @RalphiusMaximus said above. edit - Just realized his mum is Nicole Provis.. yeah thats a hell of a pedigree indeed.
  3. He was a superstar and his football ability might be underrated by the wider footy community. Only two Demons have made three or more All Australian teams - Lyon and Ron Barassi (3 each). Stynes, Neitz and Flower made two each. He won two best and fairests, kicked 426 goals despite playing all over the ground before settling forward. He was named in the MFC team of the century and has a very handy 56% win record in 226 games, with 7 seasons as captain.. How often would he be thrown into the middle at 3 quarter time when were in trouble, and turn the game around? Great player and leader.
  4. I thought this was going to be about O Mac and Lever or Petracca and Brayshaw or Viney and Oliver
  5. As I suspected, speed is severely overrated in the AFL.
  6. Off topic but AFL.com posted this...... something to get us more fired up about this game and the dream of playing finals again. http://www.afl.com.au/video/2018-05-23/classic-last-two-mins-1988-elimination-final
  7. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-05-23/running-men-keeping-track-of-your-clubs-speedsters Biggest surprise - Oscar and Wagner being 2nd and 3rd at the club for kilometers covered per game? Or Hogan clocking the third fastest sprint just a fraction of a second behind Hunt and Garlett?
  8. No change. Will likely need a change or two next week with the short break and returning from NT.
  9. Doubles him in inside 50's, almost double in metres gained. Shows he is much more dangerous. More contested possession per game too.... and Fritsch is stick thin. Add the massive difference in aerial/marking ability and courage, and we cashed in Watts for a 21 year old who is at least twice as good if not more.
  10. We should all be thankful they have held on to Leon Cameron for so long. They'd have a flag or two already with a high calibre coach.
  11. Which F word BB - Flag or Finals?
  12. Had him in my round 1 team predictions and the reasoning was that he would be too good to ignore. What a steal, and all we had to give up was Watts.
  13. Pretty inaccurate list. Walker has been ruled out for 3 weeks since last week.
  14. Have a feeling the Suns are going to go very hard at Tom with a lot of $$$ and the AFL will be right behind it.
  15. Yeah but would that be fair on the rest of the competition?
  16. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-05-22/buddy-stevie-j-gaz-and-jake-melksham#/ Superstar. Leads the league in goal assists too. Hes a gun.
  17. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-05-22/kane-cornes-team-of-the-week-r9-who-makes-it
  18. Yeah, Id love to see the Crows try and rough up Jake. It will only fire us up more.
  19. James Harmes last 4 games 25.5 disposals, 5.5 marks, 5.5 tackles, 3.3 Inside 50's, 3.3 clearances, 7.8 score involvements His season disposal average now above per 20 per game after a slow first month.
  20. T Mac will end up making the AA team... he will be impossible to ignore despite missing the first 5 games. That will be a distant memory come Round 23 when hes snagged 50+ goals in 17 games.
  21. I was about to post to correct you that we only play the Doggies once. But you are indeed right, we have them twice within 6 rounds. I never understood the angst about our 2nd half draw. It looks ok to me, and we are hopefully now at the stage where we can beat anyone anywhere. And that includes Adelaide in Adelaide, Geelong in Geelong and the Eagles in perth.
  22. The Melbourne Football Club has never scored 200 points in a game in its history. Our highest score is just 182, achieved twice. We were 23 shy of equaling that yesterday. I am pretty sure every club from the VFL has scored 200+ in a game, including Sydney and the Brisbane Bears. Fitzroy have done it too I think. This current crop of talent we have coming through might get us our first ever 200 point game. The firepower is there. It will be a magical day when we can tick that one off.
  23. He only just turrned 22 also.. people speak like hes a 200+ game 30 year old veteran sometimes. Kids still learning, and hes already bloody good.
