  1. Lets start a Nathan Fyffe thread was reported Melbourne have enquired about his services. This is never going to happen I hope I am wrong but he is not coming to Melbourne.

  2. He was working as the manager of Genesis gym in Doncaster while playing with Casey last year.

The gym closed down he left Casey moved up to the bush to play footy and cricket.

No chance of getting picked up I would say.

  3. Roos is pure class. Can't believe people are emailing him over a trade that hasn't even happened yet. Although I'm not sold on Melksham, if we get him for a reasonable deal (3rd round pick, maybe an exchange with Howe) then I don't see any problems with it. With guys like Trengove, Petracca, Frost and Kent (plus hopefully a Prestia) pushing for selection next year Melksham way not even be in our best 22. With Melksham, we are trading for depth, not starting 22 players.

I agree with everything you said bar the Howe exchange. Howe is a crowd seller and does things knowone else in the competition can do. Yes he also needs improving on his defensive game and work rate but he is way above Melksham. Would be total disaster if he was anywhere near the Melksham trade. I think he is going up to the sunshine state though, a reasonable deal would be straight swap with Redden or even Aish plus a draft pick also guys don't count Aish out of Melbourne ..... 4. Sam Grimley is another option we could look at. Kicked 44 goals in the VFL this year, 199cm, capable of crashing packs.

Is out of contract at seasons end, so could well pick him up as a delisted free agent?

Would take him any day over Dawes. Dawes would struggle to kick 30 goals at VFL level a season.

  5. Melksham is a defensive midfielder who is going to average around 20 possessions a game. He will never be your 30 + mid.

He can do a defensive tagging job if needed and used as a half forward. If we do get him he is not going to be a walk up starter he will have to earn his spot. He is already better then M Jones,Mckenzie,Bail,Toumpas but he will have to fight for his spot with the likes of Vince,Brayshaw,Jones,Brayshaw,Pettracca,Tyson,Harmes,Viney and co.

I trust Goodwin and if we give up a 3rd rounder in a shallow draft it's really not much at all.

Deep breaths everyone trust the process.

  6. Season is over for us so thought I would make this topic.

My question is who do you want in the red and blue next year?

Who do you want that you think is realistic chance of us snapping up?

I have put a few names down.

H Bennel for Howe would it get it done? I think it may well giving Harley's latest indiscretion.

Here is one for you Shaun Atley. offer North a 1st round pick for next year in 2016. Giving there ageing list a first rounder next year when the likes of Boomer, Dal Santo, retire will be very hard to say no to on there side.

Still on North. Dan Currie would be handy pick up as ruck. About to hit 26 years old, peaking age for rucks they say. Would not cost much and he can play second fiddle to Gawn.

Last one Jed Anderson from the Hawks for me running tough mud starved of opportunities.

Adding Bennel Atley and Anderson addresses our speed factor in the midfield.

    Thoughts? Opinions?

  7. Absolutely filthy at this decision. Easily had one more left in him, such a Melbourne trait to do this to player who gave his all even in the short two years. Not to mention racked up 39 last week. Was playing solid in the backline and with the likelihood of Howe leaving would of been handy next year.

  8. Jesse's on $500k next year. Not bad for 21. Bet Dawes was nowhere near that at his age & if Jesse really plays his cards right he could very well see $1.5m+ish in a few years given the way contracts for key forwards is going.

Man I hope he reaches his full potential at MFC!!

500k is not what Jesse is on next year. It is around the 375k -450 max. Fact
  9. The harsh criticism of Hogan is way off. Yes he got beaten by Hurley but no means warrant going back to Casey or that he belevies his own hype. Let's take a step back, he is 20 year old forward in his first real AFL season playing as a CHF who experts say takes 5 years to become consistent. The real problem in my opinion is he needs bloody help how about Mr C Dawes taking some contested marks or any marks and kicking some goals on the 600k pay packet he is on.

  10. In Tyson ,ANB,Grimes

    Out Vanderberg,Garland,Newton

Newton was poor in the weekend only 7 touches all game. Was he tagging anyone?

Neal-Bullen must come in 4 weeks in a row of solid form, and in the bests most weeks for Casey.

His game on the weekend was outstanding will take Vanders place for now.

    Grimes comes in form Garland.
