  1. The thing about ‘football actions’ is they impact either the ball, or the player in possession of the ball. He did neither in this case. I simply can’t see how the AFL doesn’t want that action completely stripped from the game. Left the ground, had no impact on the play, turned a shoulder, created a concussion.
  2. It’s worth noting that when Brayshaw went down Tracc had to play more midfield minutes. Much more. Tracc forward, and one on one for longer, would have helped us a lot. They didn’t have a good match up for him. Once Gus went down we became much easier to coach against as we had less options.
  3. Agreed. I thought we looked primed, and bar a nonexistent fingernail from Marchbank would have gone 8 straight into the finals. Tonight we looked flustered. We didn’t handle the pressure at all. 70% of our team would be hugely disappointed with their effort.
  4. No way is Goodwin letting the club write anything but the most damning of reports. He was visibly annoyed, and he works hard not to be.
  5. JVR is definitely getting a week for that I reckon. Wonder if he knew it and it knocked him off his game? He was nonexistent.
  6. Agree. Love the bloke. He can play until he’s 40. He just tries his guts out.
  7. I want one at the G. I sat with awesome Melbourne supporters tonight. Didn’t know any of them, but I loved how they cheered us on. The deserve to see us win it live.
  8. Spot on. It’s what kills me as a supporter, and a Demonland member. I know I’ll come on here and a few pages into the postgame someone will post the expected scores and I’ll be furious all over again. We simply have to work far too hard for our goals, and it’s been a problem for us under Goodwin for his entire coaching career. He’s a great coach, but he hasn’t valued forward craft and skill enough and it’s hurting us badly.
  9. Don’t feed the Maynard trolls. They revel in their ability to annoy.
  10. James Sicily was clearly told otherwise, by the MRO and then the tribunal.
  11. Come on. When fit they are both top 10 in the comp players. They aren’t the problem.
  12. I agree with this. We simply didn’t handle the occasion at all. Leaving the ground Collingwood fans weren’t as insufferable as you’d imagine - because they know they got lucky.
  13. I can’t stand the pandering by TV media to the largest audience. It’s as if they think we are too thick to realise it’s happening.
  14. Not turn his shoulder into the players head and concuss him. Any more questions?
  15. No Petty, No Melksham, No Brown, TMac’s first game in 4 months, Fritta’s second in 3. We don’t get any credit for this at all. We kept solving a problem, only to have it forced back on us. If Brisbane have that many inside 50’s against Collingwood they’ll win by 8 goals.
  16. Hang in there Kev. Honestly we’ve had zero cohesion forward of the ball all year. It’s a game of inches at the top and I think we’ve been horribly unlucky with forward cohesion. TMac first game in 4 months, Fritta second in 3, JVR is going to be good but he’s literally a kid, and Brown is done. A fit Melk might have literally been the difference tonight. We gave everything but our biggest problem all year came back to haunt us. I actually don’t think we get enough credit for what we’ve had to work with, particularly forward.
  17. No way. Maynard has to get weeks for that Every week a player is in that exact position at all levels of football and they head straight into the player and wrap around them to avoid injury. He’s in a straight line mid air, and then turns his body so his shoulder makes contact. That is not a football act, and he had a simple choice - continue to go straight. If you lead with the shoulder in that circumstance they should throw the book at you. I’d be shocked if it’s not 3 weeks. I’ve watched it multiple times and he had a choice. His body is straight as the ball goes over his head.
  18. Those touring bands reads like a retirement home. Stones, Elton, Bob Seger, Fleetwood Mac and Kiss all in their 70’s during those tours 4 years ago! Nostalgia sells, clearly. As for Meatloaf I went to see Phoebe Bridgers as Margaret Court in Feb, and was shocked at the age of the people in line. Then I realised there was a Meatloaf musical on at Rod Laver. Lucky Meatloaf died because I reckon his audience won’t be far behind him.
  19. There’s a bit of revisionism happening around Jackson this year. That he made the all Australian squad is frankly laughable. He played 5-6 good games. He’s going to be a good player, but his form this year was nowhere near what they paid for him. It’s odd that it’s being portrayed that his value is already equal to his current output. I still think Freo will have trouble with him and Darcy. Let’s see what happens over the next few years, but they both play their best footy as the number one ruck. Luke looked a lot better with no Darcy.
  20. You’ll like the story about Howe in todays Age then Jaded. Him waffling on about how he wasn’t getting the best out of himself at Melbourne and needed a change. He left us for better money at a bigger club. He left us when we were struggling - after we plucked him from obscurity and gave him every opportunity. He can dress it up however he wants, but we all know the truth.
  21. Anyone got any intel about Ben Brown? He’s been TBC for weeks, yet is still rehabbing at the club on the bike.
  22. Channel 9 have exclusive vision of Fritta, who is now in 2 Moonboots.
  23. He was just exhausted at the end of a very long season. Five weeks ago when the club signed him until the end of 2026 Tim Lamb said “His performances at VFL level have been really exciting and whilst his talent is evident to everyone, his application to his training has also been first class.” I’d back in our list manager who sees him up close. Our list management is one of the best in the game, and has been for a while.
  24. If I’m watching footy and it’s a non Demons game I barrack for the following players: Jayden Jesse Hogan Toby Bedford Those 3 always gave everything for us. Jayden’s story is well documented here, Jesse had far too much to deal with personally before he turned 23, and Toby had a frustrating few seasons of limited chances with us, and has been great this year. I have a ‘mafia’ mentality with certain players. If you gave your all for the family then the only way out of the family is in a pine box.
