I feel like we have done quite well with the recruitment of coaching staff in the last two years, especially in comparison to the other clubs. Its almost like we dried up the source of coaches. I can't say whether Neeld to essendon is a good thing or not because I really don't know, but my gut feeling is that Brendan mccartney was a better get. I dare say that rocket prob wasn't the ideal candidate for the suns job either. Good coach, but I imagine they wanted something more but were forced to take what was available. Now theres the battle for a couple of clubs to emerge with a coach some time soon, and many that have coaches are looking shaky. For the first time in my life I feel like we are starting to bolster. Go dees!

These comments suck guys. I understand why you might be skeptical and sure theres a chance he might not pull it off. But he's asked us, the supporters to back him in. He is a contracted player that has been through a hell of a lot and he bleeds red and blue. Look how much faith geelong has put into menzel. He had so much time out of the game. i really like what I've seen from chomp. some of his possession gets have been really good. Interesting to see how he turns out.

shame isaac Heeney goes to sydney for pick 18 or whatever it is. absolutely ridiculous. Ranked in the top four, but swans, on top half of the ladder for the better part of a decade - can take him at the end of the first round - just because. frustrating.

I think its pretty straight forward. with pick 2 we take petrecca or mccartin- who ever saints don't choose. With pick 3 we take brayshaw. If we are able to get Petrecca with 2 - then we can also opt to take Wright with pick 3 - depending if we only want mids. Ideally we take petrecca and mcartin, but i can't see that happening.

In the scenario that Petrecca gets taken at 1, I wouldn't be opposed to taking perhaps Tom Lamb with one of the picks. Hes a 192 'utility', but from what I saw in his highlights he could be used as a tall midfielder/forward. He is great below his knees, clean hands, good goal sense, accurate by foot, he appears to have a load of skill and confidence. He and brayshaw would be great midfield additions and he could go down forward also.

We would be silly to trade howe. a little off thread topic, just replying to those last few posts. Howe is one of the best defensive intercept marks in the game. His leap allows that extra hang time that works a treat in the back line. He also has a keen goal sense. The guy has tremendous upside. Jezza shouldn't be going anywhere.

Pretty sure that twitter account is fake. Ricky nixon accounts might not be real either. His fb account was on the melb demons fb page commenting on a heap of stuff and 'liking' a ridiculous number of posts. I find it hard to believe its his account.

I don't mind too much. perhaps he sees himself as needing to play a role in helping others, I don't know, he did say it was the definition of his name - of which originates from the republic on congo and was his birth name. If thats the definition of his name then so be it, we can't choose our names, defining it is somewhat odd in our culture, but he's clearly very proud of his name - which is the same name of a previous congolese president (1961) that played a major role in the rep of congo gaining independence and was later assassinated. So it is an important name and one to be proud of. I don't know if he is related to pretice lumumba, however i suspect the name plays a role in his outspoken nature.

just watched heritiers speech. I think his message might have been misinterpreted by many. He was talking about how times are changing and how he felt he and the club had made good decisions and developed good morals in this changing community etc. I think the translation of his name part was just suggesting he believed that his morals were sound and not necessarily having the last laugh as opposed to Collingwood fc getting the last laugh. I thought he meant he and those that shared the same morals and doing what is right, would have the last laugh as opposed to those that are perhaps racist, sexest, or generally discriminating getting the last laugh. that was my take anyway. If it wasn't something like that then it doesn't make much sense.

AFC telling the media that danger is untouchable doesn't mean squat. Deny everything until the deals done. He may not go anywhere, but considering he can leave on his own accord in a season, he's very gettable. Just needs the right coaxing and a better deal than anyone else can offer.

I used to want minson, he did some work with schwartz at one stage. But he's getting on now, i don't know ho much we would get out him. I like wallis, mcrae, hrovat, stringer - al young with some experience. I doubt they would let many young guys go, they will need them.
