  1. Listen to this concussion specialist, Dr. Ross Tucker, talk about the Maynard incident, at about 62 minutes in. There is a lot of talk about head injuries, mostly in Rugby Union, starting at 39 minutes in. He says that in Union, there is a duty of care for the other player (I know this has been talked about in the AFL but doesn't apply to Magpie players): https://podtail.com/en/podcast/the-science-of-sport-podcast/rugby-world-cup-23-the-amazing-tech-used-to-look-a/
  2. Blocking free kick for Hogan explained. https://twitter.com/hasumpstuffedup/status/1703012587217293764
  3. 11-15 would have been just fine, last night.
  4. https://twitter.com/rohan_connolly/status/1702999785383547056 So only once in 23 seasons of the current final eight system have BOTH qualifying final losers gone out in straight sets, back in 2014 when Geelong and Fremantle lost their semis ... looks like that's about to become two. #AFLPowerGiants
  5. Yes, Giants are on a Demons scoring streak, keeping Port in the game, just about.
  6. ABC - Anyone but Collingwood My preferred winners in order - GWS (for Jesse), Lions, Carlton, Pies. I don't like the expansion clubs but GWS look the business. The Pies will be getting nervous.
  7. About 50:50 supporters on my train. The Sunderland AFC bloke got off the train already.
  8. Yes, it is due to Gil's comments. Such BS - We let Maynard go but we will change the rules so that it never happens again - it shouldn't have happened this time.
  9. I agree, Jackson is a big loss that we haven't fixed.
  10. I would have Jimmy Little in ruck over T-Mac.
  11. I would have Daisy Pearce in ruck over T-Mac.
  12. TMac has been useless for a long time. I would have Grundy every time. More so when Max has an injured toe.
  13. At half-time on TV, I saw some Pies player bragging about Cox sticking the knees into Gawny at the first bounce. Cox also tried to injure Trac later in the game. The bad thing is, the Pies know they are the biggest club, the AFL will bend the rules for them, they will get away with it, and therefore will continue to do it.
  14. You remind me of Jim Stynes’ 250th game. Collingwood rough us up and we lose the game. I hope they lose the next game.
  15. Me too. I want them out in the next game. I want them beaten by 60 points. The corrupt AFL wants them in the GF. I want them out.
  16. The sending off rule is long overdue. If not, a sin bin. The risk of losing a player for the full game or 15 minutes, would stop a lot of these tactical hits. It is ridiculous that Melbourne could benefit from a Carlton player being rubbed out for something they did last week but the team that was impacted gets no benefit.
  17. Not sure I get your point. Gus was the defenseless player. Maynard decided to jump towards him.
  18. Just watched CH10 news, some biomechanics expert said Once he's airborne, he's essentially a projectile. He's like a frisbee with arms and legs. So, how did he become airborne? He jumped. It is completely his own actions that caused this event. It was a dangerous act that cannot be allowed to go unpunished. I just wish all the Pies supporters and media people would admit that you don't judge the event from the moment before impact, you judge it from the moment that Maynard decided to jump forward towards a defenseless player.
  19. Carlton, then Brisbane, then.....GWS......quite the journey to win the flag.
  20. You make good points 😁. Port or Brisbane winning would be somewhere in the middle.
  21. I hate the so-called "expansion clubs". I don't want to see them win. Not many will be celebrating.
  22. Petty and Melksham would have been handy. 😳
