  1. The group comprises predominantly young professionals aged 18-40 and you'll probably get more out of it if you fall into that category but anyone is free to join, the more the merrier! Formerly called the Future Fund, we're a subsidiary of the Melbourne Business Community.
  2. Our only requirement for entry is that you can correctly spell the name of the group.. oh this is awkward..
  3. Hi all, went out to Casey today for a look and wish i could offer some new insights but my summary pretty much echoes the thoughts of others (text below). Have been a regular attendee of training for a few years now but first time putting my thoughts out there for the harsh collective of demonlanders to rip apart piece by piece.. I'm also on the committee of the MFC Young Professionals and have included an interview with Howie after the game on our Facebook page for those interested (https://www.facebook.com/mfcyoungprofessionals). Intra-Club Report Nice sunny day out at Casey and a good chance for new recruits and old stagers to show what they’ve learnt as a group over summer.. Garlett played very well, showing his skill around goals and up the ground, will really fill the void of that crumbing forward we’ve missed the last few years. Lumumba looked the goods with a few of his trademark flashy runs from half back and think his disposal and decision-making is pretty solid, would like to see him off half back combining with Salem who did some really nice things today and linked up well as the go-to quarterback player when looking to pierce the ball to a target coming out of defence. No surprises from Nath Jones, Dom Tyson or Viney - Jones got plenty of it as usual, Dom Tyson sidestepped his way beautifully through traffic and Viney went in hard and was vocal out on the ground. Hogan found plenty of space up the ground, don’t know if he ran his opponent off his feet but don’t think he’ll be given that kind of freedom when the real stuff starts. Kicked a few goals but didn’t think he dominated as have seen him do for Casey in the past. Frost was trialled forward and Pedersen in defence so not sure if they’re just experimenting there but I think Pedo looks more comfortable in both positions than the youngster at the moment. Brayshaw went off after a collision with Viney and didn’t take any further part in the game but apparently he’d been sick during the week so it was just precautionary. Petracca was on the interchange bench with strapped knee giving plenty of enthusiastic encouragement and support and getting around all players.. if he’s flat, he’s not showing it, was really good to see him so up and about, just a reflection of the kids personality I think.. Daniel Cross last on the track getting the rig out to kick the pill around with McKenzie and Viney well after everyone else had hit the sheds, just a true leader.. Intra-Club Votes 5 – Garlett 4 – N. Jones 3 – Salem 2 – Hogan 1 – Lumumba/Dunn

  6. Hi All, Last chance to join the MFC Deevoted Young Members before our marquee Season Launch Event tomorrow night at the Duke of Wellington from 5.30pm! We’re a new supporter group, launched with the club’s support, that gives members the opportunity to collectively sponsor players, win prizes and gain free entry to 4 events with other passionate young supporters and club personnel: Launch Event hosted by Robbo with Jack Watts, Matt Jones and Daniel Nicholson Sunday Pub Drinks at the College Lawn watching interstate game vs GWS Saturday Night Pub Pre-Drinks prior to the MCG game vs Western Bulldogs Business Leaders Networking Event (Date & Venue TBC) Sign up here: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/the-club/corporate/deevoted-young-members Or for more info, see the editorial on the club website http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-03-13/young-members-supporter-group-launched It’s $100 if you sign up with family/friends or $125 by yourself. Pay with cash at the Season Launch. In exchange, each member receives free entry to our four events throughout the year plus any other informal catch ups we may have spontaneously (eg. if we have a win at the MCG, we’ll immediately text everyone the pub we’re meeting at afterwards to celebrate). As well as entry to the events, where finger food and limited drinks tab are provided (usually $1000), members also have the opportunity to win over $6000 worth of prizes from the raffles we hold at each event. Here is a list of what we’ll be giving away this year: 1 x Jack Watts Match Worn + Signed Guernsey 2 x Presentation Box with Signed Guernsey + Photo 3 x Lapel Pins + Team Signed Poster 2 x President's Club Function Red Section (x2 Tickets) 2 x MFC Corporate Suite (x2 Tickets) 2 x Business of Sport Luncheon (x2 Tickets) 3 x Player Sponsor Cocktail Function (x2 Tickets) 2 x Best & Fairest Dinner (x2 Tickets) Total Prizes: 17, Total Value: $6,140 Most members make their membership payment back by winning prizes worth more than their membership, but if you don’t, it’s basically still only $25 per event with free food and drinks catching up with likeminded supporters. Due to the value we’re giving members, we usually don’t even make any additional money to donate back to the club, but are satisfied to break even if it means connecting young members with the club and each other. Pity about the disappointing result on the weekend but not a bad effort considering only one of our top seven tallest senior players (ruck or key position) were available for selection and able to play out the night (Jake Spencer) after Fitzy was concussed and Tom McDonald was playing on one leg since quarter time. I know that it was a heart breaking loss for many supporters after all the hope of pre-season but if there’s one time the club needs you the most, it’s not when we’re pushing for finals in a few years, it’s right now when we’re trying to give our players and club every bit of support they need to get to where we both want to be in the future. Look forward to seeing a many of you tomorrow for a light-hearted night of fun with the players! Go Dees!
  7. This thread has really taken off in an unexpected direction, but still amusing and keeping it near the top! ..For the record, i asked the club if the age limit could be increased but it was decided only the young(er) tightasses should have access to such a great offer with heaps of value..
  8. The DEEVOTED YOUNG MEMBERS group was originally established to develop and enhance personal relationships with the future of our membership base by providing younger members with exceptional value that was more affordable for uni students or those in the early stages of their careers. To sign up – go to http://melbournebusinesscommunity.com and click Join Now, making sure you select MFC Young Professionals from the checkout dropdown box provided. For $190 per membership, it’s a great way to catch up with like-minded professionals and support the club..!
  9. You should really get an honorary membership, I will enquire with the committee!
  10. I'm sure we could sneak you in if you wore some skinny jeans and grew a beard like all the hipsters these days..
