In the prelim both McRae and Kingsley coached from ground level. They are both doing alright at coaching.

As for replacing Yze,  what about Mick Stinear? He seems to be able to coach.

You beat me to it. Stinear def worth looking at

Could it be that they are taking a really safe approach to the players mingling with supporters as Covid is still out there in the community.

Good point longsuffering. With life starting to feel normal again I forget this

  3. It’s just struck me that we haven’t had the traditional family day this year. I guess they thought the December event was it. Seems strange to miss an opportunity to sell more memberships and merch

  4. Really like this. I remember him saying that he was told he should go look at clubs he could win a premiership with and he said that if it wasn’t with the Dee’s it wouldn’t mean as much. Glad we get to keep him at the club. Good job to all involved

The sooking needs too stop! Haha

Come up with some trades people. Lol

    If these teams want too trade. These are the players they will have to give up or Jack stays;

    Pies - Sidebottom

    Power - Hartlett

    Eagles - Gaff

    Geelong - Blicavs

    Swans - Hayward

Looks like Jack stays... I think Port could give up Hartlett though if any trade were too happen.

Play hardball Dees! Nothing too lose...

    * 2nd & 3rd round picks likely too be swapped also.

He’s not worth any of these guys and that’s where the problem lies with watts

T mac was very impressive as a forward this year.

dare i say maybe even more consistent then Watts?

I thought he looked really dangerous for a while round 23 but got nothing from umps. Got mauled just before half or 3/4 time and no free kick and he went spare. Clearly troubles defenders. Lever comes in and we have the luxury of sending him foward more often

With Frost on Lynch, OMac and Hibberd waxed it a bit as the loose man down back and also covered 2-metre Peter.

Like many DLs I can be critical of O-mac at times but throughout the game his intensity was high. He went in hard for the tackle when he needed and often flew almost maniacally for the spoils. He missed a few but invariably Hibberd was hanging at the back to clear up, but he also got quite a few spoils. Obviously his brother would have taken more marks as the sweeper but overall he did a pretty good job - the fact that Wright and Lynch didn't dominate is partly attributely to him.

As to the two errant kicks to Hunt to the grandstand wing, he may have had difficulty judging the boundary line because it was a really light line and at dusk was nigh on impossible to see.

Did he do enough to retain his spot. Yes. If T-mac returns to the defence does he keep his spot is another question but one that you need to wait and see what happens if and when Hoges and Gawn return.

My final comment on Oscar - he's coming along fine and if his intensity remains, he should stay in the side. He's not mega quick but he is mega fit and we have Frosty to play on the quick leading talls anyway. My wish now is that he get a game soon where they play him as a forward - as part of his development and he might surprise a few with his kicking for goal - he is one of the best kicks in the side- he gets into strife in the slow build ups

    Great summary. Thanks

  8. Due to a family event I only was able to watch second half of the game from a distance but when I did glance across I thought I saw o Mac do some good things. Many here suggesting he should be dropped. Can someone give me a bit of a summation of his game?

Yep. The day we played St Kilda (which I think was his last game) he was abysmal. Gave away 2 x 50m penalties, got smashed by Membrey & Reiwoldt, Kept pushing too far up the ground and wouldn't keep the structure.

Final straw was his torp from the kick in that sailed back straight over his head for goal The coaches box went ballistic and he was dragged never to return.

In his best year he lost only a single one on one contest but like Garland that was a long time ago and the game seems to have passed them by.

Stole my thunder re st kilda game. Agree that was the moment I knew it was over. There will be games that will make him look good because the flow of play will assist but for the most part the way the game is played now doesn't suit him.
