Paddy McCartin is effectively delisted by St Kilda. Do you guys think we should recruit him for 2021 season. Seems to be over his concussion issues and wants to continue playing. Only 24 years of age.
Maybe Richardson should have some input on that matter.
BUT only if the Demons change their game style and kick inside 50 more accurately.
49 inside 50's for 8 Goals is deplorable.
McCartin could add versatility and we could swing T Mc back to CHB

I'm not being smarty pants but i woulkd have thought the reason is clear. They wanted Jackson and ran the risk of not getting him if GWS called our bluff and letr us have Green.
A secondary reason would be as good as Green might be we have plenty of inside bulls and no athletic freaks capable of playing as mid, forward and
Seems obvious that they tipped their hand when they made the pick swaps with Adelaide, and the odds of them passing were tiny. If they did pass then we get one of the top mids in the draft who can impact next year instead of a developing ruckman who maybe able to become a mid and who maybe could play forward but will most likely be playing at Casey next year.

Please ask why we didn't bid on Tom Green @ pick 3

Any chance we would take Mchenry at 23 if available

We gave Essendon pick 29 for Hibberd, so 29 for Watts in comparison is like winning Super 66.
Every chance it could end up as the steak knives in the lever trade which again, does not seem adequate

article says we will accept pick 29 for Watts
Does not seem like enough

Mitch kings recovery from a knee reco seems not to warrant a mention.

not sure if it'a been brought up elsewhere, but we were real heavy into jack hannath who ended up going to fremantle but has since been delisted.
would be interested to see if we are still interested or if we feel like we dodged a bullet

Any word why the weed man didn't play last week?
-
Terlich, grimes; cant see them playing next year
Lumumba can't seem to get on the track but might see the writing on the wall and fall on his sword. Especially if we get hibberd
Matt jones is an interesting one though, seemed to be best 22 at the start of the year and has played consistantly since we picked him up

Any group meetings finished with a round of applause?
If ANB or Newton was coming in then surely they would be worth a clap
-
If viney head knock r urns out to be an issue then ANB should replace him, otherwise no change needed.

Harmes counting his lucky stars but seems the rype that will bounce back stronger if only to prove a point

Didn't see the game, only going off the vfl thread, but it sounds like neal-bullen or michie could come in for harmes.
Both have have had extremely strong starts to the season in the vfl and their efforst should be rewarded after harmes had an off day.
Stretch for hunt. Hunt looks alright but had a bit of an off game and stretch has had had a few good games and deserves his chance.
Viv michie could come in but who he would replace i am not sure

Pedersen is a significantly better overhead mark which he uses to great effect especially down back.
It seems like every week he clunks a big pack mark at the top of our defensive goal square.
Pederden also provides much more service in the ruck than dawes and over the last 12 months put some good form together (injuries not withstanding)

Melksham on a bank flank would free up salem to play higher up the ground. I don't have the stats handy but when he delivers the ball inside 50 things seem to happen.

Spencer is very limited as a ruckman but could be useful as a poor mans mumford.
Always seemed to have taken some angry pills but the difference he is not alone anymore.
For mine, this is why frost is important to our team.
What defender wouldn't "hear footsteps" under a high ball with frost, kent, hogan and harmes ready to clean them up
-
The forward pressure that frost provides should not be underestimated. Alot of the time even if the opponent get rid of the ball he is able to take them to ground or otherwise disrupt the flow of play.
-
Low stat winner but chases hard and throws his body around.
Far too many intercept marks, many of which frost may have diffused
Missed his defensive pressure, hope he plays next week.

Need to fix the kick into our fwd 50

Our midfield is light.
Our defence is basically full strength (depending how you rate lumumba) so it will be interesting to see how they hold up.
Jetta dunn garland
Salem T.Mac ???
Our forward line is only missing dawes and petracca from our round 1 team (again based on opinion)
Kent Pedersen watts
Garlett hogan ???
Our midfield is light.
No jones or vince is massive. Their game sense and ability to lift at pivitol moments is not to be underrated and will be sorely missed.
Our midfield will remain light even with those two players returning for the season proper if we do not see the next group step up.
Hoping to see the continued emergence of brayshaw. 99 tackles from 21 games shows intent, shows discipline and it shows the much vaunted term "competitiveness".
If oliver can have the same type of a debut year then who knows what sort of season we could have.
Vandenberg, viney, kent, harmes. These are the names of players who can damage opponents with their hunt for the ball, with their desire to win win with their...competitiveness
Pretty close to full strength and a side we could have to field if the injury gods are cruel
Might only be pre season but today should tell us alot about how this season will play out

Must've benn playing through a rediculous amount of pain if he has wrecked his foot this badly.
Too proud as a captain to miss games for injury.
Courage or foolishness?

Disappointed to see they started the song without everyone in the circle again
