  1. Me too. I was just having a dig at fat head.
  2. The important thing is that Eddie has come out and backed him. And as we all know Eddie trumps all laws and jury decisions.
  3. Yeah, but nine of those touches were him checking that his wallet was still in place.
  4. If your coaching group is smart enough then you can set up your mids to rove to the opp ruckman. I'll take a mobile big man over a tap ruck man every day of the week.
  5. I'm not sure why this gets so much hate. I'm enjoying watching how a real coach operates (how ever briefly and Indian summer-like that may be), and I feel that the past 5-6 years were a monstrous waste of talent, money and belief. A player speaks his mind and says that it's nice to think that the pain will stop, and people get upset about it? I hope more players do should the new setup become something that we can all enjoy. We treat them like robots and forget that they are young boys thrown into a dysfunctional club, and that the major lesson they learnt from it was that the thing they sweat and bleed for is only rarely enjoyable. They deserved better and hopefully now they are getting it.
  6. So you hope they get off because of what we think? Not because they are innocent or anything irrelevant like that, huh? And ambulance driver is far from the derogatory term you think it is. If more people acted like them the world would be a better place (and, no before you ask, I'm not fit to shine their shoes. I don't have their class and compassion which is why I'm happy just slowing down to gig at the accident).
  7. If Roos had have worked out our low skill base by the first game of the NAB whatever cup then I'd appoint him God Almighty. GIve it time. We're coming from a low base and the players need to learn to trust each other will be in the spot they should be. If it's still like that in rnd 16 then worry, and I'll join you for a drink on that one.
  8. http://demonwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Norm+Smith I knew that before I searched for a link. That just happened to be the first that popped up. I'm sure if you wanted to dig deeper you'd find better and more comprehensive write ups on his playing career (no offence to Demon wiki, it's just that I'm pretty sure Red Fox covered it well, and I'm sure there are other articles). I was simply supporting the point that playing decoy isn't a slap at you on your playing ability. It just means that the coach thinks you are the best man for that job. If you can do it and the opposition feels that they can't afford to leave you alone, then you are a valuable member of the side.
  9. I said I don't want to. I never said I wouldn't.
  10. True, but yelling 'kick it short' just seems weird.
  11. I guess he helped us out in case there is ever a toilet paper shortage. Other than that it was just Dwayne writing several hundred words on just how good Dwayne is.
  12. Many years ago my mum (a Footscray supporter, and not someone that takes things overly seriously) wrote a letter to Dwayne because she felt that he wasn't just biased in his views, but he was also badly informed when it came to talking about Footscray and their players. What came back was a long, patronising reply that not only showed him to be an arrogant [censored] but a thin skinned one. The gist of it was that he was a professional and therefore knew all that there was to know about the game, and she was just a supporter who didn't really understand either the media or football. And there was a real undercurrent of 'you're just a woman so what would you know' to it also. Now mum is a life long friend of Kevin Sheedy, Norm Smith came to her wedding, her brother in law just happened to play in 3 flags for us, plus she goes to every Footscray game she can - by herself usually because dad won't go to any game not at the 'G. But this Dwayne character talked to her as if she was a child interrupting the adults. She wasn't upset by this though - that ain't her style. She laughed at the reply and happily shows it to anyone that might make a comment that Dwayne is a good commentator. I'm yet to see such a person not change their mind after reading the self absorbed and condescending drivel he wrote her.
  13. Lol Woke up this morning. Had the strangest dream. I supported a football club that looked like a real team...
  14. Yep. I was listening to SEN last night and callers were saying stuff like 'i'm glad Melbourne won. They've had tough times and they deserve to have a win or two' I felt like spitting on the floor, That patronising pity is as bad as being laughed at.
  15. It's stuff like that which adds some icing to the cake. They've been the most under performing side of the last 30 years, and yet because the won a couple last year they think they are the new Geelong. I thoroughly enjoy every setback they have because I know they'll rub my nose in every gain.
  16. I hope not. I don't want to have to wear tracky daks and commit crimes just so I can support my team.
  17. Nah. I'll take whatever enthusiasm I can get these days.
  18. And Garland. Don't forget him. And yes how nice was it to see the team playing to a plan and with purpose. If we play like that then even the losses won't hurt as much as they did over recent years.
  19. I'd watch a game from last year, if I was you. That'll get rid of it.
  20. Hey! I remember that song. They should play it more often.
  21. Oh no! We're taking it easy with players that have had interrupted preseasons so that we can get the best value out of them for the H&A. What the hell is the club thinking?
  22. If the best Thomas has is a slurring, strawman personal attack in an attempt to stay relevant, then good luck to him. He's a pig of a person, and if he wants to roll around in the mud then we should let him and think no more about it.
