None at all. We are trying to fill the same holes as them. They missed Clark so it's only natural they chase the next top forward that comes up. I'm unsure myself. If the rumours are right then it's a lot of money and a lot of eggs in one basket, but then again with less and less space in the forward lines these days a one grab man mountain is always a good thing. But a million good things a year? I dunno.

Maybe. Might be a good chance to boot them full time to Tassie.

It's certainly worth a look. With Watts, Strauss and Davey moving the ball from the back line and hitting targets the rest of the team can spread with greater confidence. It's a bit pie in the sky right now but hopefully things can come together in the future.

Not fit enough, playing a style that is tougher than they are used to, and cooked from the hard training. That doesn't worry me as long as the attempt at going in when needed is there. Anyone here with a good memory know how the Sts went under Lyon early on when he grunted up their game style?

I agree with that except the last bit. I see it as 'can't yet put in the required effort'.

What started as a stupid thread has evolved into some really good discussion and insight. The two things relevant to it that I am keeping at the front of my mind during this dark season are (i) that Jack is getting and using the ball more and more, in a way the coach wants him to. It's not perfect by any means but he is certainly having more and more moments where you can see the class shine, and (ii) that until we are fitter (superfit) we just can't play the style required to the level required. That leaves holes which are exploited. But we have given ourselves every chance of getting that fit, hard team we need by the staff and single minded approach of Neeld. Last year against Collingwood they blew us off our feet in the last q. We were never going to be more than a mid tier bully until we could match that. It's not something that can be turned around in a couple of games. It may well take until mid next year to start really clicking. Then when the team has the ability and the belief to run hard all game we are going to see the beginnings of a team we can be proud of. There is a ton of work to do and some list remodelling ahead but it can be done and we're going to give it every chance of succeeding. Wishful thinking? I don't think so. I think this is a dose of some bloody horrible medicine that will not only save us but make us better.

If they can make it a life time ban then I'm all in favour.

Back to before 2008 and Bailey. All this 186, players sulking and admin playing games is just a symptom of a disease that has been in this club for many years.
