  1. Too much common sense 'dog bites man' rather than emotive clap trap 'man bites dog' for it to be in a better position. Adrian needs to learn to rant and make things up if he wants the prime real estate.
  2. He's chained to us. If he turns on us to save his skin his name will be Mudd in the coaching world. Ask Libber how being a rat is working out for him.
  3. The main one is that we kept bleeding into the shark tank. It was amateur hour from go until not long ago. We seem to have a smarter set up running the show these days, but geez we went about things in dumb ways at times. What's done is done, but we need to be a lot smarter about almost everything going forward or we'll keep getting eaten alive over everything.
  4. I reckon North has done it for the last 5 or so years. Carlton tried it for a bit after their tanking years (I remember a Carlton supporting mate pulling his hair out after 3 talls were named again one Thurs).
  5. A terrible read. Is this fella the work experience kid? The gist of it seemed to be that we were evil for playing three rucks and although there is zero evidence it is possible Stynes was the mastermind behind it all. To think that the Age was once such a fine newspaper.
  6. Geez, if we are going to get hung for fumbling then we're rooted. We've fumbled through almost every bloody season I've seen for the last 40 years.
  7. So don't read / watch them. The football media is always looking to beat up on something or someone, and it might as well be us. It's better than wrapping ourselves in cotton wool and turning our players into robots. If they are not fronting a judge over this then it is a nothing story.
  8. I'd be fine with any of those outcomes as long as the club wasn't punished. I have no issue with cheats being run out of the game.
  9. That's the one right there. When the players bring that attitude to the game I'll get excited about them too.
  10. And no doubt he will screw them over too.
  11. You're wasting your time. He can't read.
  12. Maybe they could cut out the middleman here and just charge the investigators. They don't really need us to run this kangaroo court thing do they? We could just go about our business and leave them to charge each other with all sorts of things. They can even let Caro invent a couple of things.
  13. Freedom? No. Not really. Compassion is though, http://www.usnews.com/usnews/news/articles/070318/26drugs.htm It's certainly worth examining.
  14. Hadn't seen that sketch so thanks for the heads up. Funny stuff, especially the snuff explanation. I don't think we have it close to right as it stands now. I think it's a mess. Problem is that I don't think that there is much in the way of answers that will make things any better, and most of them will make things worse. I'm not a woswer either. If you can name it then I'll bet you I've tried it, and probably tried it way past the point where it is fun for anyone. It's been a decade since I've done anything like that, but jeez I saw some good people get messed up by it all. That's not going to change much no matter what laws are around. The laws just decide what an acceptable trade off of criminal activity versus people getting messed up is. Tighten laws and the criminal side goes up. Loosen laws and the messed up side goes up. On top of that society has to decide how much it is willing to pay to fix the broken people or the mess they make versus how much liberty a person should have to make stupid decisions. So in a nutshell I'm glad I don't have to frame the laws because the issue is a hell of a lot more complex than a simple yes or no.
  15. What do you think the chances would be of either of those two things being legalised if they were invented today? It's only that they are that culturally ingrained that they aren't banned outright, and I reckon that tobacco has less than 20 years to go before it's on the outer. I really don't see how loosening controls on other things is going to make the world a better place.
  16. Yep. If we win more than we lose in a year I'll get excited again. Until then I'll watch with a jaded eye.
  17. I find life as a Melbourne supporter interesting enough without imagining things. If something pops up that includes us I'll concern myself with it then, but not until.
  18. I dunno about whether it's OK or not, but I really don't care. I'm just busy thanking whatever football gods there are that it isn't us.
  19. I have zero idea if Neeld is on the right track or not. There seems to be a good energy around the place but... that doesn't mean a hell of a lot really. Only results do. What I do know is that the Bailey way was broken. We had a team that went to water under pressure, and who thought that games under the belt equalled success. Neeld may well build a highly motivated team that can't execute a game plan (seen that before, haven't we?), and that finishes bottom 4 every year of his reign, but I'd put a months pay on it beating Bailey's side each time because the side Bailey wanted to build had no heart and had no balls, and by the end everyone knew it.
  20. The tap seemed to turn off the moment we engaged our legal team, and came out swinging. Maybe it's just co-incidence, but I'd like to think that it wasn't.
  21. I don't know about the 2013 Demons - it's still in a transitional stage - but the 2014 Demon would badly hurt the 2010 side, They'd be too big, too strong, too fit and too aggressive for the 2010 side. About half way through the second quarter the 2010 team would have gone to pieces. We saw that happen again and again in 2011 once other sides had identified that we didn't like it tough, and that we only ran hard one way. It'd been worked out by everyone, and it wasn't going to get better without us making some massive changes. I know it, you know it, most of Demonand knows it. C&B can't see it.
  22. I'm completely against bringing in a player that you even suspect needs to be read the riot act before hand. I'm also not interested in bringing in someone that has to have a different set of rules then the rest. As someone eloquently put it earlier in the thread: wrong club, wrong coach, wrong time. A big red line was put through his name a while back, and that isn't going to change.
  23. Really? Really? We cut a couple of non-hackers from the list and suddenly we've overcome nearly half a century of clueless culture, and it's fine for us to bring morons into the club. You're easily impressed.
  24. Yeah. You got me. Viney has had more than his fair share of coverage in the last couple of weeks. Much, much more than Danniher. It's really not a big deal (or any deal at all).
  25. I don't think that letting them decide the fate of the kids of the 2013 draft is a very good idea.
