Sure you can. Don't read any of her crap. Her and her cruddy rag of a paper don't get any hits off me. I'm happier for not seeing her rubbish, and the her figures don't look as good. If more people did the same she'd be out of a job.

And we've got people that post here that support that regime? They ought to be run out of the club. -

Obviously there isn't anyone at Windy Hill she has a vendetta against. She could always get a job at Fox if this one falls through. They like 'fair and balanced' don't they? -

Twinkle in his old man's eye as he looked down the scope to the motorcade driving along the Dealey Plaza. On topic: Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha! James "the Golden Boy' Hird indeed. -
Gimmie double digits in the W column and I'll believe whatever it is you want me to believe, but until then... Although I have a sneaking suspicion bruise free is not going to be a phrase that is heard often (or at all) around this place in the future.

It is certainly the policy that seems to be doing the most damage. It looks to me that the AFL is so worried that a star will be caught and bring shame on the game that they have made it all but impossible for said stars to get caught - until the drug problem gets too big to hide and then they are thrown under the bus. I blame this strange, undeclared war on the NRL that causes AFL HQ to ignore or deny everything that might cause a PR hit no matter how much damage it does behind the scenes.

What's his form like? I don't think I've noticed anything he's done before other than some draft stuff.
-
I hope you're right. It's so hard to second guess the AFL though. I think most of AFL HQ would stare at you blankly if you asked them to follow a precedent.

Brock McLean article - "Tackling footy's silence on gays"

Oh hello. It's the brainwashed PC brigade. Do you lot ever think about an issue for yourselves, or do you just echo what the rest of the monkeys are chattering? -

I can and do. A Multi-racial society is a fine thing to aim for, but a multi cultural one is just asking for future troubles. Multiculturalism just makes it harder for the melting pot to do its job, and god knows the job is hard enough as it is. Now I'm not saying we all must eat meat pies and say Strewth all the time, and the dominant culture should take the best it can find from others and use it, but the idea that all cultural behaviour is equally valid and welcome is a very bad idea that will hurt this country in the future. -
Why not? Sooner or later we've got to get it right, yeah?

Thank God for the jumpers otherwise I'd watch round one and wonder what team it was I was watching. -
I can see an enquiry. I can see us saying 'what's he worth to you'. I can see Nth saying 'maybe a second round pick and something else?'. And I can see us telling them to make a serious offer or move onto something else. I can also see trade month ending with that being about the limit of the conversation. Of course I don't listen to that Denham fella (one of the few bonuses of living in rugby land) so I can also understand that all of this might just be him bored and looking to light up the phone lines.

Bollocks. Is he a man or a child? Is he responsible for his own actions or not? And how do the problems in his community absolve him from obeying the law or even maybe just having a bit of decency about how he left the club? Oh he had us fooled well and good. All this noble warrior persona and how he was on a mission for the tribe and stuff like that turned out to be so much rubbish. He's just another selfish empty head with a drinking problem who has wasted the only talent they were given. I don't see why we shouldn't call it for exactly what it is.
-
I was just assuming he wasn't smart enough to understand the subject.
-
Yeah well I've got better things to do than worry about the world's problems. Sport interests me. Caring about people I've never spoken to not so much. I also have a list of things I don't have much compassion for: 1) Drink drivers 2) People that use weapons to commit violence 3) People that [censored] on my club after all it has done for them Number 3 probably should be at the top of the list though.

I'm thinking Caroline Wilson. As for LJ I couldn't give a crap. He had my full support and sympathy until the moment he walked out on the club.

Small dreams. I hope we steal somebody else's 'Jesse Hogan'. Maybe even two.

Geez, this saga is creating strange bed fellows indeed. I feel a bit icky.

Oh we tanked alright. Did it half arsed the way we've pretty much done everything else since 1964. But you're over rating the effect of the fabric of the club. The club wasn't professional to begin with and that wasn't going to change without a major overhaul (fingers crossed this is the one). Tanking as an effect on the culture was just one more rip in a very tattered piece of fabric. In a wierd way the whole thing seems to have been the straw that forced us to get fair dinkum. I mean we can't even cheat properly. If we can't do that maybe we might as well forget about the short cuts and see if we can give the professional attitude a try. That's about the size of it.

Oh please. They've just borrowed from the Demonland drafting and trading playbook: if crap player + crap player + crap player + crap player + crap player = top draft pick and / or champion player then naturally hairbrained circumstantial evidence + hairbrained circumstantial evidence + hairbrained circumstantial evidence + hairbrained circumstantial evidence = water tight case. We've really only got ourselves to blame for giving them the idea.

Nah, it's fine how it is. I was picking on the standard of the work produced by the journos who regularly get the back pages. It's all yelling, accusations, in your face conclusions drawn from scanty or imagined facts and the journo playing judge and jury. Take it as a compliment that the piece wasn't run in that area, and leave the ranting to those not talented enough to write a thoughtful piece.
