  1. Ventured to training today...9.30 start 11.10 finish in hot conditions. I'll report more later but it was a solid session with various drills and no competitive match simulations. No Hogan, Davey or Barry. Rodan hurt his elbow/wrist late in the session and left the oval into the tent . He looked sore after being pushed to the ground by Howe. more later in detail
  2. Robert Flower Last played for Melbourne in 1987 Born : August 5, 1955 Playing Height : 183cm Playing Weight : 75kg
  3. Thank you FNQ Demon for a terrific report!!
  4. I also saw Davey at training and was very surprised how popular he is with other players...he was certainly jovial and 'part of it' but certainly he is struggling with injury/fitness.
  5. Upcoming open training sessions: Monday 26th November - 9:30am - Gosch's Paddock All other training sessions are closed sessions.
  6. I was lucky enough to get there as I had a day off work. But I drove for 2 hours to get to Casey. I'm sure the players would love more supporters at training...only about 15 ish there on Friday. If ya haven't been I recommend it greatly as the chance to see the guys up close and how hard they actually train is a great experience.
  7. Spot on Deevoted!...I did notice Blease really struggling late in the running?..really struggling a lot ! He worked so hard!
  8. An interesting thing I noticed today...about 30 guys training and I counted 15 coaches/support staff
  9. Pretty spot on Rookie Demon. I was there early and Neil Craig came over for a chat which was nice. Just some notes that I made were Sylvia and Grimes went out back somewhere (2nd oval?) presuming to do running. No Watts/Dawes or Hogan anywhere. Trenners legs are thinner and he looked sharp . If 27 is Gillies, he's a big boy! Pederson is underdone but just kept at it which was good . Great to see Dunn helping and with technical stuff in the body positioning etc. The session was solid and lasted 2¼ hours and the noise and encouragement by all players was excellent. I was thinking that they weren't going to do much running today until they went into separate groups as previously posted and the drills went for about 40 minutes with footys and all running...very hard stuff it was! Jones was good after a drill was a bit sloppy encouraging excellence etc. Viney looked a bit smaller than I thought and not as polished with his kicks but I guess he will improve. All in all it was great to see that the boys are into big time and we certainly will be fit and a much improved team in 2013!
  10. Well my source was a players girlfriend who told me he was injured since the start of the season and I didn't quiz her any further
  11. Knowing the he is def. injured but not knowing def. what it is I'd be fairly sure it would be OP in the fact of his running and lack of kicking strength .
  12. I can assure you from a 110% reliable source that Trengove has been carrying an injury all season. (I didn't ask what it was)
  13. I hope this helps to the original question... 14. Thanks guys I appreciate the replys...
  15. Thanks UTAH..where do they train as you can't close off Gosch's Paddock?
  16. Lol! ..seriously though are the players doing club stuff on these two days or is it days off as part of the players association agreement?...I find it hard to imagine that it's only 3 days at the club this time of year?
  17. Sorry if this is a silly question but we train Monday, Wednesday, Friday....what happens on Tuesday and Thursday in pre season?
  18. H_T ...I hope ya don't mind me copying your awesome post onto facebook for others to enjoy..you have touched a lot of people..thankyou!
  19. I heard Watts say to a couple of players after training that he wasn't happy with his session ....so he knew he struggled ..he might have just been a bit off..
  20. Well at the pace of Liam's laps surely he was either injured or sore?..that's all he really did was laps at about 1/2 pace max
  21. Ok..just got back from watching training today..they were doing full oval match simulation when I arrived ..another group was obviously the underdone guys were doing laps etc..another group doing light half leads contesting for a mark drills. This was a 'LIGHT' week apparently. Then split up into groups doing various inclose drill ie. handball, tackling etc.... The end of the over 90 minute session had the players in groups doing 4 by whatever? timed runs...put it this way..on a light week as this the guys were spent!! So good to see encouragement galore from players/coaches right through the session. We will be fit..trust me! Impressed with Neil Craig also..
  22. Finals pics would be a good thing!!!!
  23. Thanks Deeview!
  24. Thanks johnjones!! Cheers
