  1. Just bad decision making today.
  2. That bump on Dawson was hilarious. It was like playing on a cardboard cut out. What made it so easy though, was that Jesse had worked Dawson so bloody hard he could hardly breathe, so had nothing left to give. Our boy is getting smarter about how to play the game all the time
  3. That's a GIF, by the way.
  4. Oh, go on. I'd have to do some actual work if I didn't have yours and Stuie's posts to read!

Another 100+ gamer out the door, to be replaced by a 5 gamer with potential. And so the cycle continues.
  6. Interesting though that he's in Perth on the same day that Roos gets in the press and tells everyone we won't be paying overs for him.
  7. You've said the same thing. And I'm not surprised you couldn't help trying to have the last word.
  8. Ah! So just quoting out of context without the rest of the discussion. Look, I'm not interested in getting into a patented Stuie nitpicky fight. I'll leave it there.
  9. I'd say that, right now, they still have a huge part to play in carrying that team, which is the point you are ProDee were discussing. We rely much more on good performances from guys with 0-50 games to win, whereas I'd say in almost every win St Kilda have, it is the older players who really step up and drive performance. We have guys like Oliver, Hogan, Kent, Harmes and Viney that are the variables when we win and lose. I think you've deliberately misunderstood me.
  10. I think the St Kilda older brigade are way ahead of ours. Montagna and Riewoldt alone just carry that club and have been the bridge between the old era and the new kids coming through. We don't really have that, although Vince and Jones are good. But if those two had retired a couple of years ago, the Saints would have really crashed in that time I think. We still rely on our young blokes to carry the team over the line a large proportion of the time.
  11. I completely agree - have been saying the same for about two years.
  12. Are people still going to complain about that run up and pretend Jesse isn't an accurate kick?
  13. Yep, all fair. Not sticking my head in the sand, but I still reckon he'll stay.
  14. A lot extra money is speculation at this point. He might love Perth but that will be overriden by playing for a good team. And it's Goodwin's plan that he loves, not Roos'. Freo are stuffed. You say they're not like Carlton, maybe they're even worse. Carlton have at least admitted they need to reset and are starting to come out the other side. Freo aren't even close to bottoming out yet, let alone rebuilding.
  15. I just can't see Hogan playing the next 5 years in a dismal Freo rebuild just to go home and make a bit of extra money. They are factors, but surely will be overriden in the end by the fact that Freo are in deep, deep [censored].
  16. Done the rounds on this one already (I think even on this thread). Darling and Kennedy still have enough footy left in them that it would make it really hard to fit him in now. And I just can't see how they'd fit him under the cap.
  17. Agreed. Carey will just calm him down I reckon, bring him back to earth a bit.
  18. Yes, but it doesn't have to. There's no other player in the league contracted until the end of next year whose contract status anybody is even remotely discussing. I know he is important etc etc, but it's just a waste of energy! Anyway, rant over!
  19. Yes please. It's so boring trawling through this thread to look for something that is actually relevant.
  20. Are we really going to go round and round and round this for two whole years? Just enjoy watching him play footy for a while!
  21. Double edged sword, I reckon. A couple of times he stops playing the ball and whinges at the umpires - that has to stop. Also had a couple of cracks at the delivery yesterday, which is fine, but not a great look when you're screaming at your teammates and throwing your arms in the air....
  22. And after the coaching team had given him a rocket by sticking him in midfield so he would be forced to break out of a jog. If he led hard today, he could have kicked 6 no troubles.
  23. I don't think so. Clearly the balance of power in this employer/employee relationship is with the employee. The same as every other organisation that is trying to retain the best talent - you have to be a place where people want to work...
  24. So good to have players that the wider competition are noticing. Has been a while (see, eg, Jones being left out of top 50s his whole life despite being a beast). Can't wait to have Petracca back with Hogan, Brayshaw, Salem etc next year. I reckon we're really building and people will sit up and take proper notice soon.
  25. Except the guy who got it over him is a FF/CHF. And I watched the GWS game. And Jesse's was far better. Jaded is right. The selectors are idiots.
