  1. Bumping this..... so i thought we saw some improvement yesterday from the likes of Kozzie (outstanding), BB and some nice cameos from Melk along with the kicks to advantage to get Melk his goose, ANB's amazing effort in the forward pocket out to Viney to Dogga ...goal, hitting BB lace out (Spargo via ANB) etc. On the flip side there were also a number of ugly entries and opportunities lost (eg; lack of talk / awareness between Kozzie & Sparrow for what should have been an easy mark in front of goal following some great work off HB) so still plenty of room. The other aspect we really must wipe out is the Bailey Fritsch BBQ. There must be some disharmony amongst team mates over this or the boys aint human. Come on SG, Stafford & Co. Whatever it takes pls fix this... it has to be a non negotiable if this team is to really start clicking up forward on a consistent basis and we get maximum buy in & conversion % from entries. As David King says, better to bite the bullet & fix this now rather than letting it fester and have this happen in a final. I wouldn't say Fritta is toasting all of his team mates as per King as there was a nice handball in the pocket to give Kozzie his first goal yesterday but nonetheless it's becoming a (bad) habit & a concern that needs to be addressed (if it hasn't already) IMV... https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/teams/melbourne-demons/afl-news-2022-bayley-fritsch-ignoring-teammates-selfish-doesnt-kick-it-to-charlie-spargo-video-melbourne-demons-win-over-port-adelaide-power/news-story/7f2541db16c827aed12272613e82834a
  2. JVR for mine. Would have been an ideal entre game this week off the bench. Opportunity lost.
  3. His postioning and they way he works off his man, often getting front position for the intercept or spoil. The mop ups. Then there's the 2nd efforts. He was really on today and improving little by little with each game it seems.
  4. Imagine if we had Salem doing the kick ins at least half the time. He can go short to a free. Possibly May!! May can then roost it all the way to the wing. At least we've managed to get into a neutral spot on the field and from there we have a chance. Alternatively he is also good on the switch from a flank.
  5. You havent seen enough of that already!? Traditional today and thats the way it should be outside of the designated indigenous games.
  6. Gawn .. why would you thunp the ball to the only player forward ie; their sweeper??
  7. Keep playing here pls if Kozzy's gonna bring this!
  8. Melksham's stats to half time?.... 2 fumbles
  9. What's happened to DOGGA!!????? fricken awful the last few weeks
  10. Lever back on. Kozzie into the middle
  11. I would highly recommend you block DubDee until your return WCW (jkgs DD!)
  12. Best you save any stomping for the grapes CHF Have a great birthday
  13. BA i agree to a point here but when you see the young fella (JVR) up and about like last week and looking VERY ready for a (probable) short stint at the big league AND he out plays his older opponent (for that spot) in Melk in a tough encounter under trying conditions away at the Cattery. Mate i must be very out of touch with things at AFL level but from my amature seat i would've rolled the die and given JVR a shot this week. We've seen some very solid performances from Melk over the years and he's a great servant of the club. But based on recent form at Casey my eyes tell me JVR is now at or above his level (in short stints!) and more than ready. I doubt we'll see him make his debut at senior level this year now though so these are just musings from lowly old me and subjective opinion.
  14. That boat's sailed i think Red. If he didn't get picked after last week's results, Seniors and Casey, i doubt he'll get a look in this season unless we have a few injuries to taller forwards. Played a solid game last week & unlucky not to be in for Spargo or Bedford.
  15. See above Steve....added a 'post' post comment. Not many teams (to this point) are using the Doggy's outside five method in general play. I havent seen many occurances, if any, of other teams (beside the Doggies) using the outside five for OOTFs before this evening. Maybe i haven't been watching carefully enough though and have just missed it. Some players might be (individual preference) or have to as they cant get to the mark in time (ie: incidendal & unintended).
  16. I would have to rewatch. Maybe some players learning quicker than others as i havent seen any of our boys doing it this year. I just rewatched. CP was a fair way off the OOTF when it happened and directed away from coming up to the line by the ump (ie; telling him "outside five" as he was approaching). Think that was more circumstance than design TBH. Not fully convinced on "intent" here.
