  1. The following players are unlikely to be on the list next season: Fullerton, Brown, Spargo, Verrell, Woewodin, Billings. That’s 6 gone without any trading done. Two in with White and Sinnema and no first round pick. We won’t have any issues to find spots for trade ins and draft picks.
  2. How so? We have no first round pick at this point, plus we are committed to two F/S and academy players. We have a bunch of players OOC who are not making it, and potentially a couple of senior players we will look to trade out. Unless the new coach wants to draft into rounds 4,5 and 6, I reckon re-signing these two has not put any squeeze on the list whatsoever. I can name 8 players who can comfortably be removed from the list ahead of them and still leave us room to play with.
  3. Disgusting. If it was a Melbourne supporter please ban him from the club. Ridiculous behavior in 2025!
  4. Not really. Have a look at how many players are OOC and far less likely to contribute/ remain on the list heading into 2026. A new coach is not making 12 list changes in one season. Melksham and McDonald are high value low cost players who will contribute off the field, even if they don’t contribute a whole lot on it. It’s really not a hard decision to make without a senior coach.
  5. Sad news for Jayden. Injury ruined his chance at a flag and launched the career of Bowey. Sliding doors.
  6. Selwyn is out of contract, so replacing him will not make any impact to the soft cap. Same as Williams. I am not sure where the other assistants are at with contracts, except that Chaplin has a year to run. Richardson also has a year to run, and will likely stay as his salary will be too much of a hit to the soft cap
  7. What 20 year old wants to live in Essendon? Moorabbin? Dingley? There are a small handful of clubs who train in close proximity to the CBD. By the way there are just as many players with families and kids as there are single players.
  8. Contract extension for the next 10 years. Please and thank you Tim Lamb
  9. Melbourne when the game is there to be won
  10. Louise is a Melbourne man. He’s crying like the rest of us.
  11. Comes from being captain and feeling a sense of responsibility to keep carrying the team. The exhaustion is far more mental than physical, believe me.
  12. Poor Max looks exhausted.
  13. The best thing to come out of 2024 is the two stars we picked up in the draft. Langford and Lindsay will be the next midfield winning duo for us

  16. The curse of the close game for Melbourne 😭
  17. Tom Morris to Trac and Clarry post game
  18. Very happy to be keeping AMW. He had a few clubs show interest in him. He has a lot of the attributes of a modern day half back flanker that we could use. Namely speed and ball use. Reckon he will feature strongly next year.
  19. It could always be even worse. We could be Essendon supporters.
  20. Tonight is definitely the end of an era. I am not sure who goes and who stays, but 2026 will feel like a completely different side with a new coach and multiple changes to the playing list. So long brief period of premiership glory. I will never forget you.
  21. I want no injuries and no reports. Looking at you Kosi. I'll raise a glass or 6 tonight to commemorate the season that was
  22. I had a full blown mental breakdown watching him line up for that goal in lockdown on the floor of my bedroom. And other than lockdown being over, not much has improved with my mental health while watching us play since 🫠
  23. Not sure we should be picking an AFLW team to please the boyfriends.
  24. New coaches want to bring their own people with them in 99% of cases. We have a number of FD employees who are out of contract, and this would have been communicated to all potential candidates. Wherever possible I think we would avoid tearing up contracts, but where contracts are expiring, it makes sense to part ways and give any new coach the ability to bring along their own people. Remembering that FD contracts expire at the end of August, so you need to let people know if they are keeping their job or not. It's the decent thing to do. Anyone vying for the top job would be presenting a list of assistants and FD people they would like to bring with them / replace. It's part of the job interview process. Buckley and other candidates would be speaking with people in the industry that they would like to bring along with them to the club should they get the job. I have no doubt that Buckley especially would have a list of people he would be speaking with, given his long standing experience in the game.
  25. I think in 2025 everyone should know better than to use such derogatory language. The AFL has consistently given big punishments for this type of behaviour and Rankine should have known better. There are plenty of things you can say to your opponent, that don't include vilifying language around sexual orientation, race or religion. Would you feel the same if a player racially vilified one of our players? 'Just a mistake'?
