May will surely be right to go, that's a full 3 weeks since calf strain. Should be cherry ripe. I was sure JVR was going to debut in round 4 vs West Coast at his home state anyway, and that one of BB or TMac (or even Gawn) was going to be rested and excused from that long flight. So one week earlier isn't that much of a concern. When one door closes and all that... bring him in and lets see how he goes. Also WTF is a pelvis injury? Sounds very painful. P.S.- I knew last week's injury list was a bad omen.

Don’t get me wrong, Sydney and Pies are two teams I have no confidence of beating no matter how good or bad either side is. I’m not confident at all that we can win and I have no idea how a 1-2 start to the season will go down for us. But just as we can’t get overly excited that Essendon are 2-0 because they beat Hawks and CG, we also can’t applaud Sydney for beating the same two sides, coming off a GF appearance.

The existence of GC remains a mystery to me. Absolutely a waste of a club when we have Tassie and NT who are both actual footy loving states, not to mention how thin the talent is already spread across the 18 clubs. I suggest we dismantle them and we put dibs on Touk Miller and call it a day 😂

Freo should never have been in that position to begin with. Ffs it was their home game against a two time wooden spooner who literally hasn’t won at that venue in 198 years.

Would we look at getting Darcy as the long term replacement for Gawn? Under his and Grundy’s guidance he can be anything. He’s very talented. Just needs a proper fitness and conditioning regime and some actual coaching.

JVR won’t do much rucking. Grundy will ruck 80% of the game with TMac helping him (if his foot holds out). JVR might take the forward ruck contests here and there and maybe one or two centre contests. But he won’t ruck. He will play forward to allow Tmac to help in the ruck (which is a terrible idea with his foot, but Schache being concussed doesn’t leave us with any other option).

You’re right. He’s 21 and in his third full season. He is a child and a tall one at that, which means he will have a lot of down games. But he and only he chose to chase this insane contract and to run to mum as fast as he possibly could, instead of sticking around with a premiership team where he could play under a generational ruckman with absolutely no pressure to perform. FFS even when he was stinking it up last season and it was obvious he was leaving, we still gave him every chance to succeed. He chose to make himself a target for his putrid performances, which are completely normal at this stage of his career. You make your bed….

And if you don’t think that deciding mid season that you’re out the door, putting in no effort for half a season and then not even engaging with another WA club that held pick 2 (when all you apparently wanted was to go home) is not [censored] all over the club, then you’re a lot kinder than I am.

I have never once wished anything bad to happen to him. I don’t want him to get injured, hell I don’t even want him to play badly. All I want is for Freo to stink it up, so that we can get what we deserve for the investment we made in him. That he chose to go home for a contract that he didn’t deserve, but was stupidly given to him, is his call. He might be playing badly but at least he gets to sleep on a pillow made of cash in his mum’s house. Good for him. We all live and die by the choices we make. We chose to spend pick 3 on Jackson and he chose to believe that Freo dumping 5 best 22 players for him wasn’t going to end in tears. And by the way, Jackson is a premiership player because he played for Melbourne. Melbourne isn’t a premiership team because of Jackson. Let’s make no mistake about that.

We wasted pick 3 on a player who then won a rising star and a flag within the first two season of his career, and then decided halfway through his third season that he just couldn’t be stuffed giving anything to our club anymore. He decided mid season he wanted to go home and didn’t even try after that. He also couldn’t care less about us being screwed in a trade deal, refusing to even engage with West Coast. He treated our club like it a means to an end. I have no idea why I need to be kind to him.
