  1. Fritsch at 16.4... I know he probably hasn't had 20 set shots yet due to injury, but boy oh boy can he kick. Even better, Chandler on 13.2! Trac still a way to go at 8.6. But he finished last year at 19.31, so a definite improvement!
  2. The AFL needs to spend a lot more money at lower levels including with umpiring. It is beyond a joke that a competition where millions are spent each week on gambling, has part time umpires impacting results. I heard Dill mention yesterday about the bounce, and needing to maybe remove it from our game because we need more umpires. How about instead of trying to change the game, you change the system. You start umpiring academies, you pay them a full time wage, you have them train every day like the players do, and you get them to a consistent level. The AFL can't even properly sustain the VFL competition, let alone grass roots and junior footy.
  3. And can he promise that we won't once again get pantsed by Cox and Mihocek?
  4. Choco does it again! Give the man a 10 year contract.
  5. It doesn't. The big carrot is the TV rights, which again with 19 teams changes nothing as there will still be the same number of games each week. I don't believe we have the talent or the crowd participation to get to 20 teams. When Richmond and Melbourne both get sub 30,000 fans to a home game, what is the likelihood that you will get 30,000 consistently to Tassie games or Canberra games? We keep expanding the competition, but the competition doesn't get better. Umpiring is shocking, TV coverage is terrible, MRP is a joke, and each year the talent gets thinner and thinner beyond the top end. We have teams with 100+ years of history be cellar dwellers for years, Freo is still yet to win a flag and they've been around for a long time, not to mention GC and GWS sucking the AFL dry while achieving absolutely nothing. 20 teams is not sustainable, unless you are investing proper money in grass roots footy and getting kids involved at a very young age to develop talent and participation. But the AFL is not spending money at that level, all they are doing is spending money at the top end.
  6. Not the worse and sounds like Petty should be right. Fingers crossed Salem has no more setbacks and also fingers crossed Dunstan’s injury is minor.
  7. I feel like a lot of these questions are only safe to ask behind a screen. In real life he’d probably punch all of us in the face for even hinting at retirement or asking him why he had a bad game once…. 😂
  8. I would be keen to know who he thinks on our list could take his spot when he eventually retires. He probably won't want to answer it tho 🤪
  9. I rewatched the replay yesterday and Clarry was destroying them. Not only was he everywhere, but he got his hands on the footy consistently which created the ball movement that got us those early goals. He was at the start of multiple chains that resulted in goals. He was the most influential player on the ground in that first quarter. As for my last comment, that was clearly tongue in cheek. I think anyone who wonder why Clarry hasn't won a Brownlow yet needs to understand that he has a lot of competition within his own team for votes. Both he and Trac are incredibly consistent and extremely good players, who will continue to take votes of one another. Of course I rather those two win flags than win Brownlows!
  10. Doesn’t help that he’s playing for a dumpster fire of a team in the wrong position tho. Was not the case last year.
  11. Unfortunately the tank is on at both West Coast and Hawthorn whereas Freo and Richmond have nothing to gain by finishing as low as possible. So I think pick 4 is the absolute best outcome we can hope for. West Coast, Hawks and Norf will fight to the death for that spoon. We play Hawks twice and Norf once more… so good luck to us if we think Freo finish bottom.
  12. How lucky are we to have this man as our captain. The best captain in the AFL hands down. Not just a genuine superstar, but the most empathetic, down to earth, relatable and likable character in the game. You would just love to play with him and for him.
  13. I think you’ll find that getting Fritta with the pick we got from Watts has made it indeed a very happy ending.
  14. I think in general because the game was done within 8 minutes and the other defenders had their forwards covered, he was able to play a lot more loosely and run off and impact forward of the centre more than usual. Had a great game as a result.
  15. Where in my post did I say he was not a great footballer? I said he will run the AFL one day. He has a finger in every pie and the media love him. Just because I find him and his club insufferable, doesn’t mean I don’t recognize what a great player he’s been over the journey.
  16. No coincidence that he played more midfield minutes and got votes. He’s wasted down back but I understand why he’s been down there.
  17. Makes sense. Maybe he did an indoor session today or maybe he’s on a rest day. I guess we will wait and see if he is at main training on Wednesday (?). Goodwin was very confident he will be back this week as he’s progressing well through the protocol. He was also very clear last week that Spargo is not ready, so clearly those two were having different progressions through the concussion. Spargo must have had it worse.
  18. Because he is Steven May. He just grew a new head. Stop asking silly questions.
  19. He is apparently only a couple of weeks away which gives him 2 games at Casey first. That would be about right I would think. They won’t let him waste his time at Casey for any longer unless he’s really in bad touch or struggling with fitness/pain.
  20. Maybe because it was the captains run it was fine since it's not a competitive hit out? I have no idea how these protocols work... well clearly they don't... hence the lawsuits.
  21. Because its Dangerfield. He will run the AFL one day. Everyone just loves to fawn all over him. Same way that they tell me how great Hawkins is, because he literally decapitates his opponent each week so he can take a mark, and the umpires let it happen. Imagine if Gawn could do half the [censored] Hawkins does... he would be taking 95 contested marks a game.
