  1. I’m sorry but no Hawthorn player should get votes. They were smashed for all but 10 minutes of the game.
  2. You are better off bringing Joel Smith to play that role. He has the height and athleticism to go with him.
  3. Can’t catch a break with our talls. Really disappointing.
  4. This is already my favourite thread This is my beautiful boy Bear. A real keen Melbourne supporter... P.S- I did want to name him Clarry since he's a ginger but my husband said absolutely not.
  5. Chandler plays a role where you will have quiet games. Small forwards have the hardest role in footy in terms of getting big stats. Sometimes they'll kick 3, sometimes they'll touch it twice a game. It's just luck of the draw and really depends on how the rest of the side is playing. I think as long as Chandler keeps up his defensive role, he is perfectly fine. BTW he had 12 touches, 3 score involvements and 3 clearances. These are super similar stats to Spargo, but Spargo kicked 2 and that's how the dice rolled this week.
  6. For those complaining that you can't tackle, that's not true. Sparrow needed to pull him down in the tackle, not swing him around. This is the difference between an acceptable tackle and a dangerous tackle now. It's been that way for a while. If you swing a player, you better hope that you land them softly on their side. If you swing them and they hit the ground hard or their head hits the ground, you are gone. There is no point contesting this charge. Even Geelong players have copped suspensions for these types of tackles, so you know we are no chance.
  7. I reckon the swinging action is what got him because Day couldn’t protect himself and his head was always going to hit the ground. Don’t think we contest. Sparrow could probably use a week off to refresh.
  8. You’d think JJ will play a full game and Clarry and Trac will play more minutes than they have been to cover for him. Harmes would be another option but sounds like he wasn’t at training which doesn’t bode well.
  9. Very worrying about Petty. Maybe he won't train much this week to help reduce the bruising? Good to Trac is out there. If it was at all serious he surely wouldn't train.
  10. I think you severely underestimate how difficult it is to take hangers. It's why we see so few, and in fact, we are seeing less and less each season, because unlike before, players who jump too early, use hands in the back or interfere with the contest and don't hold the mark, get penalised. I applaud Kosi for giving it a red hot crack as often as he does. Eventually one will stick and it'll be the mark of the century.
  11. Just like how Geelong were back in flag contention when they beat Hawthorn... and how we are no good but Pies are unbelievable because they beat GWS without Toby Green at the MCG.
  12. From the stands it looked like a rough tackle and I was secretly praying Day gets up and walks on or I knew Sparrow would be in trouble. You could argue the impact grading but I don’t think we will bother. We have a big important game this week. JJ will take Sparrow’s place.
  13. I don’t have it in me to go another 5 rounds with the tribunal and appeals board 😂
  14. I saw it and immediately thought it’ll be looked at. Player was ok so was hoping it’ll be a fine. It was a dumping tackle. Not heaps in it.
  15. Everyone said we were miles ahead last year too at round 10. And we all know how that turned out. Smashing GWS at the MCG without Toby Green is not a premiership winning achievement ffs. Yes they are setting the tone. Their game plan is what we’ve all adjusted to and they are hard to beat. But they aren’t impossible to beat and player vs player we have a superior list of talent. We absolutely can win it this year. But we have a lot to work on. Lucky it’s only May.
  16. The crowd was actually not bad. Just shy of 40,000. I reckon that’s decent considering how Hawks are traveling.
  17. Really good this win for us. Opens a gap between us and Saints and also smashed Saints percentage which was the closest to ours.
  18. Me too. They’re going to be a very good team. Building nicely and assembled a nice list. Plus Burgess.
  19. ****ty little fracture is what worries me. Tommy Mac also played for two weeks before they discovered his foot was buggered.
  20. To be fair, playing West Coast is now considered a training run not a game
  21. I’m very worried about Petty. The ankle will be fine, but foot injuries are horrible.
  22. No different to the last 3 seasons really. But we know when it all falls apart for them.
