It sounds like the issues are just excuses, and his injury is being seen by those closest to him as a golden ticket into a bigger club. The fact that he's telling different people different reasons, and even the people I speak to about this have no definite idea what the core of his issue is, tells me that this is all a way to cash in while he can. If his issues were shared by the rest of the playing group, do you think there would be such angst towards him?

I never said they are reading this thread. I said they probably Google their name and come to see what is being said about them. It's definitely not everyone, but as if an 18 year old isn't doing that. And where is the ageist slur? I was making a point that most young men with an ego big enough to play footy, would be curious to see what is being said about them online. Social media wasn't a big thing when I was 18, but I have a teenager and I can see just how they operate around this sort of stuff. I reckon you'd be shocked the amount of stuff that is written on here that gets back to players, either directly or indirectly. And Trac wouldn't give one single hoot what anyone at our club thinks about him, let alone the supporters.

Correct Trac has got exactly what he wanted, a situation so bad that keeping him becomes untenable.

The way fans are carrying on that this is all on our club is absolutely insane. Do you think Bont has never had issues at the Dogs? You think Dusty always loved Richmond? You reckon Cripps loved not playing finals all these years? Every club has players who are unhappy at one time or another, including BIG star players. I don't remember Neale coming out and trashing Brisbane because he wanted to go home. I have never seen a single one of them throw a match at their club in a public domain and watch the place burn.

I think the club has held their tongue as long as they could, but now it’s time for the club to make it clear to Trac that this behavior is not going to cause us to bend over backwards. Maybe the club thinks that if the relationship sours on our end, and Trac knows he won’t be welcomed back, that HE would have to compromise on the club he goes to. And that club will be the one that offers us the best deal, NOT the club that makes Trac the most amount of money on social media. Trac can’t have it all his way. He chose to leak the stuff to the media. Does he expect us to sit there and be used as his personal punching bag to achieve his own agenda?

I’m not sure why you find it so outlandish that young players are googling themselves and coming across this site. Maybe the internet wasn’t around when you were in your early 20s? Everyone at the club knows about this site considering Demonland is a long term player sponsor and has had multiple players and FD members join the podcast. Hell, we have had family members of players openly post on here, and I’m sure there are dozens more who post anonymously. WCW is not suggesting Max is reading George Demonland threads at bedtime, but I am sure plenty of young players go online to see what is being said about them, be it here or Bigfooty or social media. I am sure the club is telling them to keep away, but curiosity is part of human nature.

No, we absolutely didn’t do that. We made it publicly known that we would trade him in an effort to get him realize the seriousness of the situation he has put himself in. It was done with his management’s support. Clarry never wanted to leave Melbourne and the club believed that if he thought it might happen, it would force him to make changes. And it worked. Clarry’s issues were well known to all clubs at that point. Hell most of them were public knowledge too thanks to gutter journalists who saw it fit to wait outside hospitals for him!

Regardless of whether Trac has legitimate complaints about the club, and I am sure he does by the way, are you really ok for him to trash the club publicly? Because his teammates sure aren’t. This goes against everything a good leader would do. You don’t turn your entire team against you in some deluded effort to force change. Because now the only change that’s being forced here is getting rid of Trac.

McClure is full of [censored]. Trac has no issue with Goody. In fact the original leak from his camp via Morris made particular note of that. I think the second part of that is true tho.

Lachie Neale is the closest in terms of “star power”. He wanted out but for family reasons, and stayed. I presume things didn’t get this bad between him and the rest of the playing group tho.

One player? Really? Coz Judd didn’t help Carlton. Nor did Ablett help Gold Coast. One player does not a club make. He sure didn’t help them this year. Hell he couldn’t even help them make finals. The big crowds and sponsorships is the real reason and we all know it. Going from 500,000 followers to 1,000,000 followers means his paid posts double and triple in worth.

Genuine question, are the Pies not in decline? Old list, no first round pick. What makes them more lucrative than Melbourne?
