  1. Christ that’s the trifecta of Melbourne haters
  2. Caulfield would be a very good spot. It’s not that far from the G and is well serviced by Caulfield station.
  3. Kane Cornes reckons Oliver won’t play again this season… so lock him in for a return next week 🙄😂
  4. If Fagan thinks they'll win at the MCG with more slow lumbering players, then all power to him.
  5. The biggest issue with the Gawn/Grundy combo, is that we want one of them to play forward, and neither are forwards. At 29 and 31, that is not going to change. You just have to move on from that idea. We never played Gawn or Jackson as permanent forwards, so why are we insisting to do it with Gawn and Grundy? Gawn dropping back is where he excels, and providing the outlet from half back. Grundy needs to use his strength at ground level to play as an extra mid. He can't do that if he's absolutely buggered, so it's not a bad time to give him a week off to freshen up ahead of playing a fast moving Adelaide. But neither are forwards, and the more we try to make them something they are not, the more we will suffer.
  6. An ambulance chasing trollop. I have no doubt that we are not happy with how the Gawn/Grundy combo is working, and that we expected a lot more out of it. However I also have no doubt that we are resting Grundy, not relegating him to Casey (who have a bye, so what a good time to 'rest' a player). He spent 12 months out of the game last year, and is no doubt still building back his fitness. He has been in better form IMO than Gawn, but I think we want to exploit the Lions' distinct lack of speed, especially if Dunkley doesn't play. It is the one area where we can really expose them, especially on the wide spaces of the MCG.
  7. When 1000 points are on the line, you have to take things very seriously
  8. My guess is that they were interested in Jackson and were told very early on he was only dealing with Freo, so didn’t bother.
  9. Load up on Pies. Hopefully they destroy whatever is left of their percentage, which is already the forth lowest!
  10. At nearly 37 I hurt my neck getting out of bed this morning
  11. He is. GWS in 2021 is the last time he’s attended a loss.
  12. I hope he kicks one on Friday. That really will bring the house down.
  13. My husband is coming this Friday... relax, we got this!* *as per usual, if we lose, he will be solely blamed for the catastrophic outcome
  14. Thanks, I appreciate your professional input into this. I was not trying to catastrophise or be dramatic, I was just simply pointing out that having done this injury, he will probably have to watch and plan for soft tissue injuries in the future, much like I assume Steven May does, or even Salo who has had troublesome hamstrings before. That may not impact his career output as such, but it might mean that he has to be rested more, put on modified programs and so forth. This might also lead Clarry to rethink how hard he pushes his body, and whether there is an advantage in doing 'less' in terms of training loads, which could also be a good thing for him.
  15. With Hibbo apparently right to go, this week would be the perfect time to push Bowey forward. I know it won’t happen, but I do wonder why he keeps practicing goal kicking at training…
  16. After SEEING a premiership. I didn’t see it live. Doesn’t count. Can not die happy yet…😂
  17. Ok I’ll be sure to run things past you before I consider anything in the future 🙄 All I was pointing out is that hopefully, given how long this hamstring is taking to heal, that he won’t be prone to more soft tissue injuries. I wasn’t saying this specific hamstring is going to impact his career. Of course it won’t. But many players have issues with recurring soft tissue injuries, especially ones who play the demanding role that Clarry plays. It’s probably why they’re making sure it is 100% right because they know the risk of recurrence is high.
  18. Maybe going by your reaction to my post, you should be the one to calm down 🤷‍♀️😂 Many players struggle with soft tissue injuries. I’m not saying Oliver will be one of them, but it’s certainly not out of the realms of possibility. Just like how when you do an ACL you’re more likely to do it again. Just ask Gawn.
  19. As a rule of thumb, winning anything as a defender other than frees against, is an uphill battle. Rivers must be the only defender to win this award.
  20. I am. This is his first soft tissue injury and it hasn’t healed well. We have no idea if he’s going to be prone to bad hamstrings or soft tissue injuries going forward. Hopefully not.
  21. It’s funny that they think they can beat Collingwood 😂
  22. It really sounds like the H&A season is a write off for him now. Hopefully will be right in September. Otherwise you’d need to question what long term impact this will have on his career.
  23. The sacking of Dew could be excellent for the death riders. It might put a rocket up GC to win a few more and get ahead of Freo on the ladder… and GC play a few teams pushing for top 4 as well.
  24. I mean Hardwick is not a bad coach…. If he can’t get the best out of that list/club, then it’s time to fold it.
  25. With the amount of money the AFL has dumped into the GCS for no return, it would be negligent of them not to put a 3 time premiership winning coach into the role the minute he became available. There is no point putting in another no name up there. The only way this club gets anywhere, regardless of how great their list is, is with a big name coach.
