Their form the last 6 weeks is garbage. They haven’t beaten a good side since they scrapped over the line against Port. They barely got over a dying Geelong and then smashed an Essendon side that was just about the worst side in the competition over the last month. Yes they’ve had injury concerns, but so have we. People forget how many key players we’ve missed throughout the year. We haven’t had the same forwardline for longer than two weeks. We missed Oliver for 10 weeks, Salem missed half a season, I can count on one hand the games Petty got thru uninjured, Gawn missed a chunk with a serious knee injury, it’s been an absolute revolving door of key players in and out each week. This will be a very hard game, but we are in far better form and we have a game plan built for finals.

On what basis? Gawn averages more clearances, more hit outs, more meters gained, more disposals, more contested possessions, more marks and more contested marks. So on what basis is Jackson ahead of Gawn?

They should appeal and get him off. It’s a disgraceful suspension. Nothing in it. As if he’d get suspended if he wore a Blues, Pies or Sydney jumper.

Still bitter he could have been a premiership player instead of still not winning a final.

This. He’s also likely ruined his chances at a third chance elsewhere. Really awful given his career shouldn’t be over.

Maybe we were gonna sub him off then Melky did his ACL?! He did sit on the bench for most of the last half of the fourth.

I agree, but I think he can still be involved in centre clearances and then quickly push forward. If he can help get first use and then get the 1-2 back, he can easily stream forward and kick a goal. But he would need to play deep at all other times. Can't see him around the stoppages, unless they are inside 50 of course.

Buckley is a selector. De Goey is a lock.

I honestly didn't expect Gawn to make the squad, as he had an injury interrupted season and English and especially Marshall have been wonderful this year. However for Jackson to make it over Gawn is a pathetic call.

Nothing would be funnier than watching us lift the premiership cup with only one player in the AA team, because lets be honest Viney won't make the final team. Gotta make room for Dusty, Stewart and De Goey.

He's played 15 games. I guess that could be a reason why he didn't make it.

I agree, but I've heard a lot of players discuss this and say it dilutes the value of getting one and many wouldn't want a medal if they didn't play on the day. I wonder how JJ feels about his.

He actually wins the Coleman if you remove the goals Walker and Curnow kicked against West Coast and North. He absolutely deserves a jacket.

My guess is he will play a lot more midfield minutes in September. I reckon he will attend more centre bounces, and then push forward.
