The "scuffle" consisted of "flicked gravy" and "May tipped over Melksham's chips"... 🤪

I inadvertently displayed a lack of humility at the Melb vs Hawks final in 2018, and ... loved it.
I usually sit behind the goals at the punt road end, and when we score, will clap and turn around to watch the crowd behind me also cheering, enjoy and savour the moment, while enjoying them doing likewise... but in that final our seats were a single row in a solid bay of Hawks fans ... so when Melksham jagged the goal that killed their run I was on my feet chapping and cheering loudly, I turned around and realised that 500 Hawks fans were looking at me as I eyeballed their misery while cheering loudly.
The first time it happened I was kinda shocked... but the second time was pure pleasure and got a few of them heckling me about the merger, years in the wilderness, etc...
was awesome.

Saints are like flies on [censored] when it comes to other clubs' flotsam & jetsam. They're also deluded enough to think they could snag a flag in the next two years whilst we're on the scene. My money is on them.
I actually thought Saints too, as Tex would replace Membrey as their second tall after King, and add a lot of potency to their forward half as a result, with Membrey a capable 3rd tall.

Happy for Weid to get another crack at it... feels like its just a matter of time before it all clicks for him.

While I doubt it's us, he would add potency in an area where we can appear to need new options... i.e. tall forward. And on his day is a genuine gun.

I think out ins and outs are all system based, as in Viney back = Dunstan out
Harmes out = Melksham stays in.
if Harmes was recovered and back it would have been Melky out.- 7

I totally get that, my point was more the condescending ill formed comments about every team in Tas apparently has failed thru history, the majority of people leave Tas in their 20s.
I have no doubt however that the models being used for the business case are acutely aware of economical implications of a team in Tassie, as would those trying to put a case together for the NT.Fair enough, I actually think Tasmania has huge potential to grow its population, economy and brand (tourism, research, migration), if they could align on a more progressive vision (and message) to drive it.
And an AFL team would assist them to do this. -

OMG, could you be any more condescending?
Historically? what teams are you actually talking about here? The only team on the national scene that 'hasn't survived' I can think of in the last 30 years is the Tassie Devils basketball team.
Tasmania economically is one of if not the strongest performing state in the country for quite some time...
Tasmania named Australia's strongest state economy for seventh quarter in a row (9news.com.au)
Most people leave in their 20s for opportunity?
Love Tassie, and they deserve a team.
Some economic size figures:
- Tasmania GDP - $34 Billion
- NT GDP - $ 25 Billion
- Victoria GDP - $ 474 Billion
- Queensland GDP - $ 366 Billion

That ranking of rucks goes a fair way to explaining why Cats wont win flag this year.

I had an election party to go to, so missed the game. Might go against the external stereotype but lots of Dees are left leaning progressives who had a celebration in mind, rather than win at drablands…
Might help explain the low attendance…

Melky May be our Stuart Dew aka 2008, on his day can win finals for us. Worth having in the conversation.
Go Dees- 1

Add Dusty and Clarko to GWS and they might win a Prelim...

I empathise with North and their supporters. We've been in the exact same boat, just that our plan to get out of trouble has worked.
I'll feel the same way... in another 33 years.

Zero second. Efforts. JVR is closer to a call up
Agree re Weid he needs to cultivate an intensity and attitude that it’s his forward line, could have lined up a North defender with a fierce tackle in the 3 and just wandered in…
Hard to teach a nice man to be a mongrel.

6 to Weid and JVR will encourage our forwards to put the sword to the Weagles, and bodes well…

I think you're being too reactive or short term. The team selection would be based on form and providing versatility and options over the coming month of games, with a mind to further build connection between the 22, and refining the 22's ability to cope with any scenario...

I'm not sure why people keep assuming Gus has a desire to play inside mid. He has had a series of concussions (as an inside mid), is a smart guy who'd understand the ramification of further concussions, and plays in a soft helmet to prevent concussions... why would he be in a hurry to return to the position where another concussion is more likely than where he currently plays..?

The fixture should be equalised over 3 seasons, so over that period every teams plays every other team the same amount of times. And the result accurately reflects the competition.
The current fixturing undermines the integrity and simplicity of the competition.

Might be time for the team to review the 2018 Preliminary Final...
... it's time for the old payback.

I reckon, Angus nailing that goal on the run on Sunday, was his way of re-applying for the wingers club. All the skills he's showing down back, also serve us well when displayed on the wing... as his GF performance demonstrated.
