Sure, when he's fit, in form and not playing VFL. For 90% of the time that's not the case. I'm a fan of JW when he's consistently on song like last year. But 2017 showed it just doesn't happen enough to justify the hype. I think he sets a bar that is flakey at best and I've changed my view since 2016

Good vision to create the play, a very handy left boot and not skinny. Reasonably good overhead mark for his height. Didn't see a right foot and only one tackle though

Anyone else notice Glen Archer got a fine and conviction for assaulting the official on the field during his son's game? Claimed is was self defense. He ran onto the field of play due to a fight between two players and he honestly believes he was defending himself! Lol! The umpire and a runner asked him to leave, but he thought he'd punch the runner in the face, breaking his glasses. He told the magistrate off in court upon hearing her decision and his lawyer had to tell him to sit down. Too funny! Another AFL idol who thinks he can do no wrong and the rules apply to others. It's his second conviction for assault. Wonder if this still permits him to remain a board member at Norf. No doubt their constitution is rubbery enough to cover this.

Amazing how the umps knew the results of the following day's game and how those two incidents would cost us a finals berth. Remind me to call Pannell and get the weekend's lotto numbers. Did we also lose to Freo, Norf x 2, and Whorethorn because of the umps? We didn't make the finals because we went to water when it counted, not because of any umpiring conspiracy. While umpiring standards haven't risen with the increase speed of the game, they are mostly correct. It's a sh!t job, no one like them, but let's try and keep the foil hats off where possible.
