Wasn't that long ago that Richmond looked cooked, with the same eight or so players filling out their top ten year after year and getting older and older.
The thing about older players is - they've been testes and found, if not excellent, at least credible AFL standard.

Just been waiting for my coffee in Horsham and fell into conversation with the happy indigenous gent beside me in a MFC tee shirt. He turned out to be the very proud father of Kysaiah having a pit stop on the way back to SA.
He wasn’t afraid to talk the boy up. Said he has a fantastic attitude.
anyway I left him talking to Frank Giampolo (ex MFC footballer).
Really looking forward to seeing this kid play

Agree but Rowell and Anderson are on the same Unity ticket. They come together like Pie and sauce. Their view of being drafted by the GC is fortified by the thought (knowledge?) that they will be together on lonely Sunset Boulevard, God’s waiting room.
I thought God went back to Geelong

Jordan Gysbets at pick 11 when he was calculated to go mid 2nd round and then Lucas Cook at pick 12 who again was touted as a mid 2nd round draft pick are just prime examples of blunders that have bitten us in the [censored].
Cook was 2010 and Gysbets was 2009. You are going to have to let them go as prime examples at some point.

The fact there were so many easy shots at on the night goal suggests that the ball was being used and delivered into the 50 reasonably well.
The simple fact is that too many were missed

Was discussing with a friend how far this team has come in the last 5 years (2013 - 2 wins and percentage of 54.07%).
While he is one of a number who have contributed significantly, his important part in this meteoric rise should not ever be underestimated.
I just realised that with Pedersen, Kent and Hogan leaving, the only player left who was brought in over the previous draft/trade period to prior to the new management is Jack Viney.

I'm not happy with the season. If we had of won the games we should have we would not have been in Perth today!! The season is just not the last few games. It is all year and we blew heaps of chances to have the 2nd chance and play all games in Melbourne.
Of course if we had won extra games we may well have finished third, played our first final in Perth, received the same belting and gone out in two.
Would those now carping have accepted a season where we won two finals against vastly more experienced teams when setting their expectations in February.

West Coast had an insurmountable lead after half-time.
If I was in Gaff's position, I would've sat out the rest of the match and gone straight to Hamish in the stands to apologise.
He will actually have to go to hospital - where he should be now making sure the boy is ok

Well it does show we are clearly on our way up.
We have passed Carlton this year

It's ok guys I'll take the credit for our turnaround.. My first daughter was born just after the Essendon game. Since then we've been on-song! She's the good luck charm
In fact Melbourne has not lost a quarter in her lifetime!

"You don't normally watch the opposition but I was watching Nick Riewoldt – the work-rate he puts in, he just puts his (opponents) into the ground. Alex is an outstanding athlete as well but the decision-making under duress when you're tired, (he) comes a little bit undone.
"You've got to take the good with the bad (with Rance)." Damian Hardwickor
Worth watching again just to see Jack Viney in action

Whenever I log on to Demonland and see the Fat Lady thread, I am drawn to open it before everything else.
It has always contained some excellent information and spectacular abuse.
The only sensible alternative to closing it would be perhaps to open a "I hate Essendon because they are a pack of arceholes" thread.

29 to 27 scoring shots, they missed some sitters as well.
They were also a man down most of the games.
You really think we win that 95 times in 100.
The statistics would suggest that if
- You win three quarters
- massively win the inside 50's
- Massively win the tackles
- Comfortably win clearances
- win contested ball count
You would expect to win the game 19 times out of 20

Ben Guthrie, What are you thinking! Oliver is a B&F , a ball magnate and unlucky not to be selected in the AA final team. Now the U23s top 10 ??? JOKE? Yeah.. Curnow wait turn, you have not proved yourself. Maybe in the future.
A wonderfully accurate expression
