  1. AFL states Aussie is not ready to come home and MFC will support him and have him in future plans. I applaud the footy club for handling this so well. Its not just all about business. From basket case to a leading club. We are headed in the right direction!!!!!!

  2. I want him to stay but there are some very handy players going around for less than $650k a year. They are also proven!!!!!

Will scully be a superstar??? He has the attributes but no one can say he will be.

  3. Col is a must have. He is the only player in our side(Greeny used to be up there) that can turn a game or really have an influence. Of all out players which most are with the " if they play to their talent" Col is at the top of the heap.

In the next 5 years we will lose players as our cap is going to be maxed so get used to it.

  4. I actually think we looked knackered from early on. Three six day breaks will take its toll. I hate Darklands and we don't play it well but we had no zip from halfway through the first quarter. We also looked too young and too small. I've decided not to lose any sleep over this game. We were always going to have trouble here. Virtually no winner apart from Petterd. People need to remember that young teams get blown away. Those who say they are sick of excuses are freakin' stupid! Just remember these names.

    Nicholson

    Howe

    Blease

    Watts

    McKenzie

    Scully

    trengove

    Strauss

    Gysberts

We are expecting some of these guys to be our core mids week after week. We definitely looked smaller in physical contests and when things don't go our way we are going to suffer this year. I don't expect to make the final eight.

    well said

  5. From the coach, i agree

"He's been outstanding for the whole year, but over the last couple of weeks he's really grabbed hold of players during the week when they needed a shake and he didn't miss anyone with his views.

"He's been very strong. For him to kick three goals today and lead from the front has been first class."

  6. Just on the Green Scull mark. The grab greeny took running back is how its done with conviction. Sculls hardly moved when called out and was not close to a marking position. Lets just enjoy the win and hope like hell we back it up against the tiges. If we dont beat them we are not going that well. Not that i think we are anyway.....

  7. Should have put money on you being the first to reply.

Opinions will be opinions. Please take time to delve deeper though Rhino.

You clearly have little understanding of our great game and have missed the point.

Maybe it's you that should be following another sport C&B.

Im with C&B. Scully did not even look close to taking that mark, Greeny obviously called Scull out of it as Greeny was in a far better spot. Yes you should call players back but not in that situation.

  8. Agree with Demon WA. Voted for Trengove, but if Grimes was to stay on the park then would go with him.

What about short term? If Green decided to step down to 'concentrate on his footy', would Moloney be next in line?

He wont step down and nor should.

  9. I tend to agree with this...McKenzie has not played a "bad" game yet.

He is probably our most consistent player with Moloney, every game.

Some games are better than others yes. But Jordie has yet to play a bad one.

    Definite leader next year.

I love jordie too and is a hunter but VC, no disrespect but that is a tad far fetched

  10. Over the summer 88% were all for Greeny as skipper. This year everyone has had a crack at him, myself included. Whoever mentioned earlier he cant take a pack mark is obviously on crack. Yes we need more from him but delivery was crap yesterday as the filth put pressure on our mids meaning our forwards had no chance. He certainly wasnt our worst yesterday. People calling for Col as skipper. Seriously kidding right. The man is a tad loose to lead one of the oldest clubs going round. VC yes but not the main job. Beamer, did anyone see him on the footy show last week. Not really who i want representing this great club. Lets just hope Greeny puts together some games like we all know he can. Hes the captain of our club so lets support for guy. The pies are the best in the business, we are about 8-10th best in the business and that showed yesterday.

  11. For all the Green knockers out there, i'd thought i'd share what i thought. Just on Half time, he got absolutely poleaxed by 3 or 4 Carlton players. Was really close to me, and the sound of the impact, let alone the actual hit, was big. To Green's credit he got straight back up. How about you all take a hit like that, before crucifying him!

well said, for those that say he doesnt have a crack, you are kidding yourselves. Anyone who come back from a broken jaw and in a comeback game and repeatedly puts his head over it, will alawys hold his ground.

If he wasnt there on fri it would have been a whole lot worse.

  12. Good - Frawley and Rivers have tried hard (Jones too but a lot of clangers).

Bad - our leaders have gone missing again

Wont say much else - Blue are down to two on the bench... you never know.

Apart from Greens horrid fresh airy hes been good, Chip & Riv good, when Riv kicks a goal he must be up and about, nicholson gone at it early. Judd is seriously got to be the afl best at the minute.

  13. green in and under, watts keeps showing a bit although not on anyone, warnock having a shocker, riv is good as is chippa, big stef good around the ground, bate is a tad slow, morton hot and cold, col is trying hard as in Beamer, the rest not much to report on.

  14. Did anyone see Yarren (dont know if I spelt that right) and some one else from Carlton (I think Betts) not go hard at the contest like Davey last week? Very soft.

sure did, and [censored] myself laughing, only problem is they are getting a bit of it
