  1. Used to go watch the boys train at the mighty MCG as a young fella when Barrassi was in charge and before. Good times .... Many memories. They often had the centre square roped off even then and would train around it.
  2. Great work mate. Didn't mind the music personally. Rivers is gonna be a rippa.
  3. Not sure what year I got my Duffel coat but I saved my pennies and got Steven 35 Smith enblazoned on the back during the off season. Season started and he changed to #1. My young fellas run has been worse. He liked Tom Scully mainly cause they shared the same 1st name. Then decided he liked Mitch Clarke. Then chose Jessie Hogan as his favourite player. Then totally lost interest in the MFC.
  4. Both those teams had young lists playing exciting football already in place. Lyon came in , turned 'em into boring robots, ignored further list development and still failed to get the job done trying to win GFs kicking under 10goals. Then left them squeezed dry and in the doldrums needing to build again from scratch.
  5. Not to mention kicked 5 in the Elim includng a towering speccy and another 4 the next week in the Semi before Dippa cracked his shoulder in his last game the Prelim.
  6. Longs was a dog act for sure. I was more [censored] cause the game was well and truely over by then. But when the heats on and there's a GF to be won ..... Get the gloves off and bring the pain.
  7. Make no mistake. The elbow to the face wasn't an accident.
  8. Credit where it's due you're correct. I learnt Hird was alot tougher than he looked that day. Rivers also could have finished him off when Hird come back on. Had him wide open but let him off the hook. 1st year player at the time I believe. Having said that Whelans hit and Trappers resulting long bomb also changed the momentum of the game. We were having our pants pulled down till that very moment.
  9. Yep perfect. Though I thnk he was aggressively protecting himself. Hard at the ball .... And the man. On the ragged edge and I couldn't care less if a player steps over. I'd have my warface on roaring like a madman just like I was when Whelan poleaxed Hird and Grinter shirtfronted Mew. GFs don't come along very often and aren't for the fainthearted.
  10. Wizz Fizz. Looked happy about it too.
  11. Might not have got the win but Isn't that what Dangerfield was doing? And if it wasn't for Martin they probably would have.
  12. If we ever get into a granny that's how I want our blokes playing. No beg pardons.
  13. He was still a loose cannon asking for a billion dollars a year. Similar story to De Goey now. I feel the slap in the face that no-one took the bait is half the rocket up his A... that he needed.
  14. 100% It was a given in the football world at the time that Scully and Trengove were 1+2. And no-one blinked when we did. Of course Richmond are re-writing history now after 3 Norm Smiths they would've taken Martin at 1. BS.
  15. Turns out she's just another Richmond [censored] out've the woodwork.
  16. Was listening to Brown on the radio last week. Stated pretty much the same thing. He overhypes himself for big games trying to do too much and fluffs 'em.
  17. Purely the reason I hoped Geelong would win. Certainly a couple flogs at work I'll have to listen to now.
  18. Don't they always.
  19. I don't think he is a "Censored". Just a gun.
  20. What pisses me off is that we made these same faces look ordinary in an Elim a few years ago. And we dropped the ball and went backward as we do and here they are.
  21. Hate 'em both. Hate the night time slot. I refuse to watch. Having said that I haven't watched a GF since the Bulldogs game and missed a couple before that. Sick of seeing the big money clubs play off.
  22. This one for me.
  23. Only read bits of the thread but FWIW, I'm glad he's staying. Be a sad day for the club if Viney ever pulled on another clubs jumper.
  24. I'm not watching the game but watched Richmond/Lions last week with Daisy Pearce doing special comments. She's got 'em all covered. Insiteful and coherant.
  25. Reputation points eh .... Who knew. Who cares. On another note. How enjoyable is watching Essendon implode right now. Even in our darkest days I can't remember every-one of note we had wanting out.
