  1. Agree. Which is why we will smash saints. It is also why losing lever was so bad for us. He was just hitting his straps and rhe back half their systems andvset ups to allow him to plst the last man sweeper role. Huge out.
  2. He's right about the aggressive press being a big factor. One our the back we are in trouble. One because without hunt doubling back (or mids having the pace to get back) we lack pace but also it means that the kick inside 50 is often under no pressure - which is the real killer. Its a double edge sword though. The aggresice press is rge key factot in our high scoring.
  3. I agree. That said, and this is not meant to be knock on hogan, but what i think we lack atm is a player who by force of will drag us over the line. All great teams have one, sometimes two, such players. Im thinking of current players like selwood, Dangerfield, dusty, kennedy, sloane and buddy. Playets that impose themseves on the game and do the extraordinary when most needed. Thw closest we have is viney, but whilst he will aways give 120 per cent he probably lacks the class. I would love hogan to be that player. Oliver has the potential to be that player and you'd hope trac also (but it has to be said he would need to go up a level).
  4. There are facts and there are opinions. And sometimes they intersect. It is my opinion we need some more players with foot speed and better rhan average foot skills. It is also a fact we need more speed and excellent kicking skills (and a player who makes good decisions wouldnt go astray). One only needs to analyse our losses for the proof. Take the port game. If we had even two players who could hit a short target, kick rhe ball to a forward's advantage, weight the ball properly and kick the goals that shouldnot be missed (hello anb and trac) we wim that game and remain in the top 4. Of course gaff is no silver bullets. But he may well have got us over the line in the port and cats game given how badly we neefed someone who doesn't butcher the ball going inside 50.
  5. Agree. Good endurance. Neat foot skills. And crucially some pace.
  6. I don't think Tyson was terrible. But not great. So i can understand calls to drop him But as rule i don't see the logic is player being picked because of good form in the twos only getting the one game before being dropped. Sure if they have played super bad or broken key team rules but if they are ok it sends a strange message i reckon. Its happened twice this year with pedo and stretch. pedo was replaced by smith who was dropped for form and casey had a bye so Pedo was dead unlucky. He was not the worst against the pies. Stretch was average against the hawks but still one week and back to the twos would not have done much for his confidence
  7. Speaking of Punter's lament i backed Doggies to win. Ouch
  8. Frustrating. And a big dose of punters lament. I was going back and forth between Shillelagh and Savanna Amour. Almost went with Shillelagh as it rated higher 3 points higher than Savanna Amour but its form has been average and has a poor strike rate so went the other way, If i win Tatts i'm going to buy a horse and call it Punter's lament.
  9. If he plays well and we get through it might be the kruze cup
  10. WFA for fillies and mares race so i I am going to trust the ratings. Daysee Doom, with 111 rates on top, has pretty good first up record (5: 2 - 2), likes it good (14: 6 - 3) and the distance (6: 4 - 2). Seems pretty good vale. My other selection is Savanna Amour. At 106 has a good enough rating, good win last start in unsuitable ground. Likes the track ( 3: 2 - 0) and the good going (12: 6 - 3). In this class is 4: 2 - 1 so has the runs on the board. Barrier one might be a concern if she gets boxed in but if she gets a nice smother might be able to trail leader and be there at the pointy end. Good luck punters
  11. You clearly are not watching the same game as me. Rag dolled. Sheesh
  12. Something that people seem to struggle to get their head around. When i say people i mean the average footy fan and even many of the so called footy experts in the media. Last night's game was a good example. Wet cokes' mid filed pressure was terrible, partic in the first quarter and the bombers were able to kick the ball to their forwards advantage time and time again. It made that peanut Stringer look like Dunstall and the WC backs like hacks
  13. Rubbish. This year has proved that he can handle the 'gorrillas' and win the one on one battles. He is only playing his 50th game and he is the key big man trusted to take the oppositions biggest forward in a team that will play finals. The 90s would have suited him perfectly. It is commonly accepted players do not hit their peak until they have played aprox 80-90 games. So Oscar will be hitting his peak at the end of next year, start of 2020. By then he won't be muscled of the ball and will have 40 odd games of craft and experience playing against the best forwards in the AFL (he really started being the key defender mid of last year).
  14. Its obviously not a straight swap but i agree that it is strange spargo was not replaced with a small. Garlett must be well out of favour. Goodwin did say he was going for a big bodied side because of the dew. Which i dont really understand. I also agree that tyson - and smith for that matter - does nothing to address our real issue with pace. Surely Tyson plays as an iside mid.
  15. Its great isnt it. Now i lnow how blues fans feel every second week.
  16. Tatts tiara gets my vote. It's hard enough doing oz form!
  17. Absolutely. And its location means it would get thousands walking past it on each of these occasions, pre and post games, and be a natural meeting spot.
  18. Absolutely. In addition to things such as apartments and gym i think a bar would do super well in that location. My thinking is less a dees social club, more a commercial bar that we own and operate. There is bugger all in that area, particularly since the pub directly opposite closed. That pub was heaving pre and post games. The Hilton/pullman is a woeful place for a drink. Expensive and awful atmosphere. I went to Nixons (what a shocking name) after the doggies game. It is in a crap location and is a pretty crappy pub but it was packed full of dees fans singing he song and celebrating as i'm sure it is after every game (obviously with other supporters). Jolimont would attract even more people and not be a dead area during the week - well not as dead. A half decent pub/bar with decent food would make an absolute killing.
  19. Great interview fellas. Again. Not meaning to be patronising or give a back handed compliment (honestly) but your interview techniques have really improved from early days. Very professional.
  20. I prefer my scotch with e
  21. I reckon they should keep the dees shop where it is. For old times sakes. Jokes.
  22. The Pullman you mean. Surely we will have our own bar., which after a win would make a huge profit. Better than lurking at the g for a post match drink. How awesome would it be to go to a dees venue right next to the g after a win (and before for that matter)? Geez if they made sure there was a pinball machine and tab EBT i'd go there when we're not playing!
  23. Its a better location than the pies base in terms of access. As close to Richmond station and indeed the Swan st tram route (75?), There is a railway station right there that links to the north and city (and therefore the west). Throw in the multiple Punt road bus routes and the fact it is only 10 min stroll though the gardens from parliament Station and it could not have better PT access options.
  24. Exactmundo. A quirk really. As is the fact that the CoM stretches across almost to Kensington
