  1. A bit harsh - a very debilitating hamstring injury, and his are far longer than most, cut him down in his prime. Hope he recovers well through the off season.
  2. Balta sounds as if he would appeal to the MCC "kick it long" members ?
  3. Probably, but he is only one. Thanks, Dr Lechter. I would prefer him deep fried in thick batter: his dad may object at not being invited to partake in the fest though.
  4. .....and/or due to being pretty ordinary, with occasional glimpses of good when it suits him. Surely no club would let that happen......it would be akin, say, to getting rid of captain Barassi and coach Smith immediately after featuring in 11 consecutive final series, including 6 flags and 2 runners up. Any club that did that would surely condemn themselves to decades in the wilderness.
  5. That is assuming that he, being the (solitary) Giants fan didn't buy 3000, with a big subsidy from the AFL.
  6. What an incredibly apt surname....for the head of Port
  7. Your autocorrect or spell check has wrecked havoc with context here.
  8. Need to kick with moor force? Pull the udder leg Are you an atheist or an agnostic?
  9. Keep well, Gus....you make us so much a better team.
  10. A well written and presented article by Tom - it will be interesting to see whether his playing style will be different next year, for better or for worse. And without excusing his actions in any way at all, I wonder if the AFL will ever crack down on those niggling elbows to the kidneys and the guts off the play that we see every week, especially before the ball is bounced. I can only remember one being penalised - of course against MFC to CarlTank resulting in their first or maybe their second goal. It is ugly and does result in what could almost be described as reflex actions with occasional serious outcomes.
  11. Thanks for sharing Roos' thoughts with us - and nice to hear him say that he is a Dees supporter.
  12. Exactly my point, old dee
  13. Pretty true, though (ancient history) didn't Peter Moore win a Downlow for us after moving across. However I can't think of even one more ever.
  14. ? All the way to the bank I suspect.
  15. And Gil will be saying what a fantastic support for "the brand"! * Note AFL official spin rule 352.3.a : GW$ Attendance formula multiply actual numbers (and don't forget to include all players, staff, maggots, scorers etc) multiplied by 3, them add a few to make it not divisible by 3 or some perceptive members of the public could get suspicious
  16. Nothing that I have read, and I am happy that I haven't. But does that mean he has no interest or perhaps just isn't a media or twitter maniac? I would be very happy to hear at an appropriate time what he has been thinking. We will either get him or we won't. We would be very derelict were we not to do a full assessment of him. To those who say there must be deep seated issues, without elaborating and perhaps not knowing what they are, so we shouldn't even look - I am glad that you are not our list managers. Perhaps those are the same who said we shouldn't look at Garlett because he 'had issues'? A change of club has and can still turn some players' careers around ( and I don't mean Ty Vickery, though the 'donor' club has done ok ?)
  17. You sound almost glad we are not there ?
  18. Excellent analysis. If he could "be a Tex Walker" it would be enormous for us. A genuine on field leader who can deliver on a pretty regular basis.
  19. Which reminds me, have I missed the final Demonland vote tally for the year?
  20. Whilst no absolute breakout, Christian has been going along very steadily. Never a bad game I would prefer a consistent A grader than an inconsistent A+ PS would not object to a few total breakouts as well, mind you. ?
  21. The sad thing is that he has been on our list all 2017 but threw in the towel after list closure and left us short. And some wonder why he is so disliked by many here - I can assure you all it has nothing to do with race The definitive definition of list clogger.
  22. I think our list managers would now have their eyes wide open Can our coaching staff fix him, or rather guide him to fix himself? If so, yes. If no, no way.
  23. Sure. But it is also a bit like an executor's or liquidator's auction: the bidders know that a sale will be made. Could have the reverse effect and keep bids down a bit.
  24. So he can kick a curved goal from the wrong picket then?? ?
