I am was proud but the last 12 months have been a drain. 7 wins from the last 25 games, a zero and 5 start to 2025 and then the horror of the 27th July. Then our coach hits us with there were good things in the last 4 minutes. That finally tipped me into disgusted. Change had to happen not because of that game in isolation but because it was the conclusion to a very very poor 12 month period. The die is cast and I have regained a little of the lost pride. Go Dees.

I was struggling to see us winning this before SG was replaced. There will no doubt be a few who don't give 100% on Sunday. A loss by 8 -10 is my prediction. What these next 3 games will show us is those who move on quickly and those who don't. The don'ts will then show us they want out. The reason we did it now and not in 3 weeks I guess. Gives the FD/ new coach more info on who to trade.

10 days ago after that disaster afternoon of the saints game I said I was taking 4 weeks off from the MFC. I felt change was necessary but I was very surprised that it happened this week. I didn't go to the last game and have not watched it on replay. My decision is do I go on Sunday or not as it is my last chance to watch a game at the G this season? Do I need to see first hand how the players handle the first game without SG. I suspect a few will not have their hearts in this last 3 games of the season. In the end it was not the president, the CEO, the cheer squad or the members that cost SD his job it was the players. Am I going to the G on Sunday? No idea at this point.

It is barely 48 hours since the decision to replace SG was made. I seriously doubt there is even a group formed. It would have to contain the new CEO though what he knows about AFL coaches is debatable.

Here we are 1.5 days after dispensing with Our coach. The media circus arpund his dismissal and replacement has been at fevor pitch. Most imo irrelevant. It is easy to see why the decision was made now and not in 3 weeks time. We needed to get the announcement done and dusted before September arrives. We need the new Chairman and CEO on board asap before decisions are made. I nearly threw up when I heard Buckley say he was open to a phone call. If we were to go with him it would severely test my loyality. If you want the job figjam apply like everyone else. IMO we don't need a new big name coach the likes of Buckley etc. when you are poor on the field you need theikez of Roos who people will accept for years while team improves. What we need is a new younger coach with 2025 experience who believes he can take us back into the top 4 in the next couple of years.

It's funny I had not heard this podcast until after this morning's news. A lot of the podcast then seemed like ancient history. I know you have more in ife than d land podcasts but another in light of the coach being sacked is needed.

Spot on Praha. Before the Saints game I was content in the feeling that he would probably moved on at seasons end. But after that game and his comment of there were some good things in the last 4 minutes I thought Simon you don't understand. There was nothing good in those last 4 minutes and even if there was it was an idiotic thing to say. I believe the decision was made at the board meeting the day after that game. As is often the case it is way easier to replace a coach than 10 under performing players.
