I am not for one second suggesting we don’t play Carrie and Viney together but I think Viney plays better when he is the main man. He seems to go to a high level. Have we ever had a better Captain and Vice Captain than this pair?

And a better balanced side. I have been following the Demons since 1960. IMO we have never had a better leading from the front captain than Max Gawn. For years I have bemoaned the fact that we never had a player who by his will could dragged the team to victory. He has in the past done it and repeated it last night. IMO the greatest captain we have had.

How stupid is the VFL concept that produces all these byes? So often players dropped or coming back from injury cannot play because of this terrible system.
