  1. It is hard to convince some people of this problem joeboy.
  2. So that must be about 480KG you have lost over the years Mr. Leg!!!!!
  3. Me too bb. I buy very little sporting branded gear because it is so in your face. 100% my age I guess but I don't wear "boy racer" type branding that is all over the garment. Simple "BMW' Logo type on one breast is my go. Sadly I cannot afford a BMW.

  5. The AFL agreement with all clubs is they control merchandise.
  6. How many MFC items do you think the MFC would sell without the AFL? I suggest way less than the current numbers. If not for the power of the AFL the retailers would stock six to eight teams and the rest could go jump. The MFC has items stocked because the AFL say you have to stock all clubs or none. In this case the MFC benefits from having the AFL control things other wise the retailers would rule the roost. I have dealt with these people for 40 years they understand only one thing and that is power. You only get their cooperation by having a far bit yourself. They would not give the MFC an appointment.
  7. Correct dc if the Dees play as well as we expect there will be some shortages in some areas.
  8. But it aint bb. Agreement with the AFL is that they control all sales. The MFC agreement with the AFL ( All AFL clubs ) is that they ( the AFL) control all sales of AFL gear to retailers/ fans outside of the clubs own fan site and internet direct to the clubs sales. A club just cannot set up a retail outlet wherever it feels the need. The agreement the AFL has with retailers gives them some exclusivity in the case of location of the stores. eg If there is a " Rebel" store in Richmond the RFC cannot set up a Tigers store in bridge road. Look I am not trying be an apologist for the AFL or Retailers. I am just trying to explain the way these things work.
  9. That is not true dc see my addition to the above. it is always going to be an agreement between the AFL and retailers. The AFL cannot just decree to the stores what will happen. It is a negotiation. You underestimate the Retailers power in these things.
  10. As I said early dc that is probably controlled by the AFL and the deal with the store. eg. they agree on an allocation based on past sales and perhaps a factor for a improvement by a team the previous year. You can be sure that after the dogs won the 16 flag there will be more stock allocated in 2017 for Dogs gear. The biggest problem is the MFC would have a poor sales record stretching back over the last decade. Retailers would rather run out of stock early than be left with unsaleable stock. The MFC just have to win more and often over the next few years. The AFL sales team would be way more interested in selling the AFL package than individual teams. They would not really care a lot if there are a few lost MFC sales at present. The negotiation would go alone the lines of AFL: look we think the MFC will win more games this year and you need to have more MFC stock. Retailer: you have been telling me that for five years and I have 15 store with 50% of their allocation from last year unsold, same as last year I think, now how many more dogs jumpers do you think we will need. AFL: probably 50% more than last year and I think the pies sold out in a few stores last year how about 10% more. Retailer: yes even if we are wrong they will be gone by the time the 2018 gear comes in. Ok that is a 20% overall increase in numbers lets get the orders arranged. AFL: sounds good.
  11. Might be that the mfc sold out from the original allocation and the person in charge at that store has little interest in restocking a low level sales item. That assumes they can order more, sometimes there is no opportunity to re order. They get a season allocation and that is it.
  12. bb My experience with these deals is that the Retailers do not always have to stock the entire range. eg, a store in western Sydney would not have to stock MFC gear or a store might be allowed to stock a few club's gear close their perceived base. You then have the problem where individual store might decide there is no market for cetain clubs so they make the decision not to stock certain clubs. Believe me I have experience at getting all Stores in large chains to stock the "agreed range". Can the MFC improve ? my guess is yes but IMO the biggest improvement will come from being a force in the competition. The punters like wearing the gear of winners, only club nutters like Demonland members wear the gear when the team is poor. IMO it comes back to winning more games do that and the sales will increase exponentially.
  13. binman I have a bit of experience dealing with large corporation / Retailers. I know the AFL have deals with certain retailers that restricts where AFL merchandise can be sold. The MFC cannot just sell their gear to any retailer/ location that takes their fancy. You may even find they are restricted in where they can locate an MFC store ( eg not near an authorised AFL retailer ). Yes the MCG site is far from ideal however it is not as easy as saying "Oh lets have one at Southern cross station". That is not how the deal with AFL approved merchandise works.

  15. That is the wisest thing said on Demonland so far in 2017. In fact it could take the crown for 2017.
  16. On this one bb they could hardly be slower.
