Joel MacDonald is 188cm. I see him as a defender who can play on talls and smalls. I would liike to play both Rivers and JMacD. Maybe drop Bartram and put Joel on a small?

That is a fit top-22 player coming back, and a very disappointing tall replaced, probably by Martin or Spencer who can help Jamar in the ruck. Watts, Martin and Spencer all had good games for Casey on the weekend.

If McNamara gets a game later, it will probably come as a replacement for Dunn or Bate. Hes 190cm, not 193.

If Sylvia and Rivers are fit of course they should play. Dropping Bate seems fair. Don't drop bennell, talk tough to him and send him out again. Consider a resting policy for the very young (Strauss, Trengove, Scully).

Thanks Don. Read right through this thread looking for the relentless optimism this site is famous for, and didn't see it until your post.

Comes down to the forward line. My preferred FL would be taller and younger. Watts, Fitzpatrick and Jurrah, with maybe a resting ruckman (no, I don't think FitzP will be a serious ruck option). But FitzP is still a stick insect, and Watts and Jurrah are injured. In the circumstances, can we do any better than the suggested lineup?
