  1. Our backline has gone backwards in a big way... and that is nothing to do with coaching...it is pure laziness!
  2. It's almost like each Lions player has a force field around them... hardly any of our tackles have stuck!!
  3. In light of what is currently unfolding at the MCG, I think that last week's effort may be viewed retrospectively in a slightly different light; Hawthorn are starting to look scarily good.
  4. Agree, which is why I don't discuss it.
  5. What is the point of this thread... we didn't take him, just like we didn't take Nic Nat - Can't change it, pointless thread.
  6. Better yet, just use the <sarcasm> enter your witty commentary here </sarcasm> tags.
  7. The next two weeks should be treated by the club and players as opportunities to stamp their authority and build their confidence with big wins... it doesn't matter that they would be against the likely cellar dwellers; confidence and momentum are major driving forces in this game.
  8. Sums it up well IMHO.
  9. Yes, absolutely shocking to see a player celebrating an excellent goal in which he set-up AND then subsequently completed, the play!
  10. Perhaps it's the fact that it's just another of many looking for players to pillory? Plenty missed marks through basic skill errors, Jetta's on their forward line that led to a goal for example - and that was all this was, a basic skill error. It really sickens me that Bennell is carrying the can skill for a judgement error in game two of season 2010 and one which he has made up for ten-fold since. And by the way, if you watch that game against the Pies, you will notice that Grimes actually pulled out of a much softer contest in a move that led directly to a goal, yet it was Bennell's retreat that caused far more consternation... go figure.
  11. Take that one step further: "Raging Bull" (apologies to Mr Scorsese)
  12. Yes, maybe he should be subbed, but for god's sake, get off his case... you have been at him almost since the opening bounce!
  13. Tapscott would already have to have this week's Rising Star wrapped up, surely?
  14. Was already a Bennell fan, but he just gets better and better!!
  15. Looks like Beamer's been at the angry pills... great to see.
  16. No, nothing yet... but I doubt they would be giving anything away on that score almost until they take the field.
  17. DemonsHQ just tweeted: "Addam Maric is the sub for @DemonsHQ today. Jordan Lewis is the Hawthorn sub."
  18. Tweeted just a couple of hours ago by DemonsHQ: "We're less than 500 members away from the 2010 record!Get your 2011 membership at the G today to help us smash the record and create history" Looking good!!
  19. Same for me Ned. I live in Canterbury's heartland and I find I have to admire their passion, although I do think they have some of the worst supporters in the competition (somewhat like Pies and Dons supporters if we want to generalise). I think you will find that the reason you now find many people here now following the AFL is due to the fact it is perceived as being more family oriented... thanks to the likes of Canterbury supporters, the live games have become a bit of a no go area for many families. As for the comments above regarding the origins of the game (AFL being a game that is Australian)... yes, it was developed here, but I think you find there are many influences that went into the making of the game that came here with the immigrants to this country. I'm loathe to make a prediction on the possible outcome of this game as over the past two years we have all confidently predicted easy victories over the Dorks due to their injury lists etc, and each time we have been comfortably dealt with.
  20. I think they said the last time was approx 100 years ago.
  21. Well as I posted in another thread, according to Brad Green on Twitter, Frawley trained well and is therefore back in the side: "Good session today... Boys ready for Sunday... We welcome back @chipa__8 into the team..."
  22. Yes, usually it was the brown paper bag containing the turd that was flaming.
  23. An accidental collision between Bruce and Guera would be nicely ironic :-)
  24. They were training today... at Casey. And it looks like Frawley must have come through it well if Brad Greens latest tweet is anything to go by: "Good session today... Boys ready for Sunday... We welcome back @chipa__8 into the team..."
  25. My turn to apologise... it was actually somewhere in between what we were saying "The scans detected bone stress in Tom’s left knee cap." - anyway, whatever it is, it was detectable from scans obviously :-)
