  1. Looking back at round 4, it is interesting to note that Clark played but contributed just 1 goal and there was no Dawes then either; our main contributors on the scoreboard were Howe (4), Evans (3), Byrnes (3), Gawn (2) and Pedersen (2). Evans this time is a non starter, but with Watts now playing forward and Fitz involved, they should make up for his 3 goals quite easily. I'm not too concerned.
  2. That's his partner Sam Blades. I think he has a hell of a lot of potential as a photographer and am glad to see him applying himself to it. I get the impression that he is the kind of person that knows no half measures when it comes to the things that interest him. So, when he is back to full fitness, he will be fully switched on to the job at hand with the MFC.
  3. Yep, they sold off the digital and printer side of the business, but continue to operate... just.
  4. Once Upon a Time in Essendon, A Fist Full of Peptides, A Few Peptides More and The Good the Bad and the Indifferent.
  5. Ok... ideally, I would love to see Roos come in as coach and bring along Brett Kirk as his understudy/successor.
  6. Succession plan??? We don't yet have a coach to have a successor!
  7. And how Hird has hired Julian Burnside QC to take on his interests. Jimmy had better be hoping that Kumar Dharmasena is involved in the final judgement.
  8. I believe Stevie Wonder is the third ump this test.
  9. You mean more likely to crash and burn than to take a sip from the poisoned challice?
  10. For me it was either the MFC or the Hare Krishnas.
  11. Yeah, perhaps we should set our sights a little lower and aim for a six season win ;-)
  12. Perhaps they could show old Movietone newsreels on the big screen (for example, the Coronation, Prince Philip feeling up young girls, Prince Charles entering Timbertop etc) and then a rousing chorus of God Save the Queen before the main feature (the game) starts. That could be followed by the players running through the banner carrying the newest royal baby and then using it for a few hand ball drills before handing it back to William and Kate who could then oversee the toss of the coin. That should cement the fixture for some time to come. Failing that, if it is found that Republican sentiment is running a little too high, perhaps we could have a really cool cover band playing heaps of really great songs like We Are the Champions (urghhh), Bohemian Rhapsody (urgggghhhhhhh), etc etc and show nothing but Freddy Mercury film clips on the big screen.
  13. I have most of John Waters' films on DVD; the DVD of Polyester comes complete with the scratch and sniff card. Love it and loved Tab Hunter in the film as well. That showing would have been at the Valhalla in Richmond I think it was? That's where I saw my first John Waters films.
  14. Hey, our pre-season started about 14 weeks ago! I wonder whether WYL's Welcome to the Fun House comment was a subtle suggestion that we are a bunch of Stooges?
  15. Since you asked, I am more than happy to oblige... the woman pictured is the late great Edith Massey in her role as Edie the egg lady from the film "Pink Flamingos", directed by baltimore's favourite son, the great John Waters who was also responsible (and I use that term very loosely) for (bullet list via Wikipedia): Hag in a Black Leather Jacket (1964, 8mm) Roman Candles (1966) Eat Your Makeup (1968, 16mm) Mondo Trasho (1969, 16mm) The Diane Linkletter Story (1970, 16mm) Multiple Maniacs (1970, 16mm) Pink Flamingos (1972, 16 & 35 mm) Female Trouble (1974, 16 & 35 mm) Desperate Living (1977, 16 & 35 mm) Polyester (1981) Hairspray (1988) Cry-Baby (1990) Serial Mom (1994) Pecker (1998) Cecil B. Demented (2000) A Dirty Shame (2004) He also had a guest spot in the Simpsons among other things and was the creator of the film Hairspray which was later released again starring Travolta and was made into a successful stage musical. The only exposure Edith Massey really had in the mainstream, was probably the old Johnny Cougar (before he became John Cougar Mellencamp) clip for his hit song "This Time"... she was the object of his affections.
  16. Thanks... but have you seen the film it's from WYL?
  17. Oh 'Bump"! Sorry, I sometimes have trouble bistinguishing between the letters 'b' and 'd'.

  19. Well, in due course when there is no-one else left at the club, he will be solely responsible for everything.
  20. I'd be more surprised if one of their sponsors decided to stick with them.
