  1. The Norm Smith Memory trophy aka Coach's Award goes to someone who Neil Craig says is a coach's dream - Jake Spencer
  2. Tweeted: the Troy Broadbridge Memorial Award for the best Melbourne listed VFL player goes to Jesse Hogan. The crowd erupts! Does that mean Magner has been delisted? ;-)
  3. Dees supporters are like one of those M C Escher drawings in that we are going up while we are going down.
  4. Bhutan is actually one of the few places I want to visit before my time is up...just me and my camera.
  5. I wouldn't be surprised if PJ finished the evening with an announcement to the effect that "you can look forward to some special news concerning the club in the next day or so.".
  6. DC, I think one look at my avatar would tell you that I am not a person to be trifled with... deadly serious.
  7. I would love to see that, if for no other reason than the fact that the Lions unceremoniously dumped Voos to make way for Roos and now they might have the pleasure of watching their former coach and prospective coach working together at the MFC.
  8. Oh come on! That is SO LAME... go for something a little more cutting edge please!!
  9. If we somehow end up with pick 1, I would hope we get Boyd, get Aish or Freeman with pick 3 and rely of Roos' ability to attract a couple of experienced top class mids during the trade/free agency period. We keep Hogan and play him in 2014, while giving Boyd a season in the VFL. Reasoning: - Clark is no guarantee to have fully recovered and it is unlikely to be known until well after the draft; what do we do if he has a relapse? - Dawes has been injury prone and cannot be guaranteed to be on the field for a full season. - It makes sense to have someone like Boyd who could come in and partner Hogan and Watts if necessary.
  10. Actually, if I recall correctly no-one on here reported that Roos had met with the staff... someone said the staff had been addressed in a meeting and informed that Roos was coming. The only mention of meeting with Roos, was in relation to the leadership group.
  11. And I believe that following the meal, during afters, the port was passed from right to left instead of left to right.
  12. JB HiFi keep emailing me discount vouchers... will that do? And jazza... eating eggs, not knitting.
  13. And I will vouch for anyone who has James Sellar as their avatar.
  14. At the risk of repeating myself so soon after typing this on the previous page, Roos final years at the Swans were NOT like that at all... they were playing exciting football.
  15. And if you're into cricket superstitions, the next page is going to be just as bad.
  16. Hasn't this been gone through already somewhere in this thread? People always remember Roos approach to shutting games down, but at the same time they seem to forget that in the latter part of his tenure with the Swans, they were playing some very exciting and very open football... shutting down games does not worry me at all, because I think it simply will not happen.
  17. Would that film be "Tomorrow When the War Began"? It's not too bad, but can't say it really grabbed me. A couple of other Australian films I just remembered that are worth watching (older pieces... as most good local cinema unfortunately seems to be): "Newsfront", "The Getting of Wisdom" and a film that many might think not Australian (and technically may not be due to funding etc), is Alex Poyas' "Dark City"...while being a little similar, this predates The Matrix and, in my opinion, is a far better film. I can't remember what it was showing with (maybe Deliverance), but in 1972 at a Friday "supper" show (late night) at the Trak Cinema, I saw a short film (mockumentary) made by a young George Miller called "Violence in the Cinema Part 1" - brilliant and it still sits clearly in my mind all those years later. As for the Mad Max DVD set... I still have the set I bought in Japan a few years ago and always get a laugh out of that fact that where they list the audio languages, it has Japanese soundtrack, Original soundtrack and Australian English soundtrack. They seemed to be of the impression that this was an American production :-)
  18. I think this one's a self sourcing pudding.
  19. I think he might have thought that was a pic of young Sam just above.
  20. Selective hearing? Robbo also said that he believes that Roos will take the job!
  21. Seems like it should be "nutbeen", not "nutbean".
