  1. Tambling cut but career may continue
  2. Um, you didn't happen to notice the dates on those two posts you responded to, did you? Hopefully Cards13 has managed to get over his 2 week injury in the 4 years since it happened, and if you are lucky, you might be able to find a copy of Dlango Unchained in the bargain bins at JB HiFi ;-)
  3. Well, others believe and have made observations that he has played as a small forward... toss a coin I say.
  4. I believe it is Supermercado who was (is?) a poster on these forums... I have no reason to doubt his information as no doubt like yourself, his info is likely based on observation, but unlike the rest of us, he has been dilligent and dedicated enough to document such information for all MFC players.
  5. Correct... from Demonwiki: "One of four players to debut in the opening round of the 2009 season, Jetta played the first five matches of the season and fifteen in total for the season impressing as a small forward."
  6. Hard to lose when you have god on your side.
  7. Fair enough Nasher, but I think through all of those years (and I may well be wrong) he was never given a long enough string of games and never allowed to settle into one position long enough to develop his game. I think the MFC had a bit of a history of doing that and hopefully this is changing; Dunn immediately springs to mind.
  8. I really don't understand the lack of love for Jetta... he was starting to show a lot at AFL level, but was then reported after which he was held back by Neeld and so his momentum was completely halted. I think Roos probably has seen something he likes about his game and believes he can harness his undoubted talent. As someone else mentioned, perhaps he is seen as our small forward option?
  9. Yes, "What Dreams May Come" is absolute eye candy... stunning images and a reasonable storyline, if a little overwrought at times. Love Werner Herzog films with my favourites being "Fitzcarraldo" and "Aguirre the Wrath of God"... also loved "The Enigma of Kasper Hauser". I have some blu-rays of his documentaries including a set called "Encounters in the Natural World" as well as the 3D "Cave of Forgotten Dreams". One of the most powerful documentaries (and depressing) I have ever seen, is his "Land of Silence and Darkness" which explores the world of people born deaf, dumb and blind. Another interesting film of his was "Even Dwarves Started Small". Werner Herzog himself is an absolute nut-job... love him!
  10. Well in all fairness, "Neitz the Great" does sound like the kind of name that could belong to a fortune telling act.
  11. I agree with all of that, but I really don't think Watts' issue is belief in his own ability - I think he already has that - I think he needs someone like Roos to get inside his head and convince him that he is strong enough to compete physically and to help him lose any fear he has of getting hurt.
  12. Yep with Davey retired, Watts now becomes the best kick of a footy in the team...I want to see him using that to deliver the ball to one of our now potentially more damaging forward options,.
  13. Definitely worth consideration. Not sure where people are getting this "soft" idea from, because from what I have seen of him, he's definitely not afraid to get in the thick of it and can be a very good tackler.
  14. Maybe it was Purple Haze? http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/35443-how-much-football-have-demonland-members-played/?p=848440
  15. Yeah, I started a thread on Salem and Freeman a while back now (think it's on about page 5 now)... he is apparently good overhead and good for a few goals. Was played most of this season off half back, but they say he's at his best in the midfield.
  16. Can't be bothered watching the entire video... anyone know what he rated North Melb's efforts?
  17. I did most of my playing at schoolboy level and was never particularly skilful. I had no weight at all (made Cale Morton look like Mr Creosote) and was easily pushed aside... did manage to sneak a few goals though. I once played a half a game in the early 70's with an undermanned, Cowboy Neale coached Ainslie team in Canberra (they realised the error of their ways by half time), so now I live vicariously through my 11 year old son who has so far done well in his first season with the Newtown Swans here in Sydney.
  18. Why do they even need numbers? Why not just put the player's name on their back and be done with it... easier for commentators too (well, the those of them that can read).
  19. Well, they are the people Roos is familiar with when it comes to effective people... and what better than having the coaching staff comprising a few from possibly one of the most consistently well performed clubs of the past few years.
  20. I think you might find that we just recruited a few midfielders (with more to come) in an effort to address that deficiency. Jones will have a lot more freedom in 2014 and will be very well placed to take on the captaincy.
  21. Jones for Capt and either Grimes or Garland for VC... as someone else mentioned, reward for effort and proven leadership on a regular basis. I would think that with the ASADA cloud hanging over his head, Trengove may be out of the picture (even for the leadership group) unless some news comes out well before the start of the new season.
  22. If we can't win on the road, then we are not going to be competitive, as more and more finals are played interstate... more time spent playing on the road is not necessarily a bad thing; it certainly hasn't hurt any of the interstate teams.
