Is Jeffy Garlett just trade bait now?
P-man replied to YesitwasaWin4theAges's topic in Melbourne Demons
Worth noting he stunk it up in the magoos at Carlton as well which is partly they traded him for a bag of chips. I understand he needs to earn his spot but maybe the VFL just isn't his bag. Maybe the pace of the game is too slow for him. I'm speculating, but I've no doubt that with regular game time he's still a 40-50 goal a year forward. If we trade him then that's what he will be kicking for the club we trade him to. -
Barracking hard for the Swans tonight. Hopefully Bud gives the diving queen a bath. I’m so bloody sick of Richmond.

Fair to say that Frost should be on the phone with his manager as we speak. Last in the pecking order and there’s no subtlety about it. From that bench I’d be picking Weeda, Fritzel, Spargo and Stretch. Spargo back in to reverse the silliness of replacing a small forward with a slow inside mid, and Stretch to reward good form and replace Harmes who just doesn’t do much for me. I expect it will be just the two changes with Vince to make way. We’ll likely kick a gazillion points and all will be rosy until we play a half decent side again.

Over his career Hoges averages 3.33 goals against the Saints. He likes playing them. I’m not clutching at my pearls at the suggestion of dropping the likes of Hogan or Petracca, but this is not the time to do it. You back him in, especially considering the form he was showing two weeks ago.

Just shown on Fox Footy that we are currently ranked 16th for how often the opposition scores once inside our defensive 50 (46.5% of the time). The only teams worse than us are St Kilda and Carlton. The other seven sides in the top 8 are ranked in the top 8 for the same stat.

I’d be happy to give JKH a run against the Saints but for him and to a lesser degree Frost it’s last chance at the OK Corral. If they stink it up against a very meager oppo then I won’t be in any rush to see them in the seniors again.

@Grapeviney - ask and ye shall receive ?

Ling’s commentary last night was garbage even by his standards.

6. Jetta - An actual concussion with blood pouring out of his mouth couldn’t stop him competing for a ball when he came into his vicinity. The bloke is inspiring to watch. 5. Viney 4. Hibberd 3. Gawn 2. Oliver 1. Melksham Jones and Brayshaw might have nicer stats but their ball use throughout the night was horrendous.

Umpiring was borederline corrupt, however we won the inside 50s 68-39 yet could only manage 7 marks inside 50 compared to their 10. We were far too easy to defend against tonight. Continually bombing it in or kicking to an outnumber. At times Hannan was one against three. Hogan was nowhere near the level we need from him. Can’t remember a clean possession. Thank god for Fritsch. We have a lot of butchers. He isn’t one of them. It was a great effort but ultimately we just weren’t good enough. I’m not sure how happy we should be about that.

That’s either dumb umpiring or cheating. What is Oscar meant to do there?
-
Stop asking Ling if he agrees with a free kick to Port. He always does.
-
Umpires absolutely determined to bring them home.
-
It just amazes me. It’s not the first time he’s carried on like this is Jetta’s breakout year. It’s his job to know this stuff.
-
Hoges has done nothing all night. Time to stand up big fella.
-
For gods sake someone tell BT Jetta made the AA squad LAST YEAR. Staggeringly unprofessional.
-
Did BT say we beat the Etihad hoodoo this year? That is beyond lazy. That is complete ignorance.
-
Nicholls’ umpiring is made more offensive by him being an ugly bald [censored].
-
Port fans have had a fit over literally every single free against.
-
Only a turnip like Nicholls would pay that mark.
-
Gus seriously. Wtf was that kick.
-
You just knew we’d concede one late. Every time. Every single time.
-
How I would love to crush these clowns.

Hoges has started really poorly.
