  1. Need some Stretch. According to Plapp "was the pick of the players" on the weekend. Not a replacement for Jones, though if we had a replacement for Jones, they'd already be playing. Apart from that, wouldn't be surprised to see JKH get another run at it, or even Kent (forward for forward).
  2. Imagine one of Weideman or Spencer will play, not both. Not sure who'll go out. But we struggled up forward on Monday, and Spencer would at least give us the option of leaving Pedersen forward and Tom Mac back.
  3. Seriously? Goodwin, McCarthy, Rawlings and co., with years and years of full time footy at the highest level can't see what random fans on a footy forum can? Getting into Dunning-Kruger territory.
  4. Pity about the 50% efficiency. At half time he was around 40% DE. Like the way he goes about it, but if he could only tighten up his disposals ...
  5. Worth watching the Watts interview on the site re reaction and instructions from the coaches at half-time. We're in good hands.
  6. But can we keep it up? Stopping Treloar would be useful.
  7. It's nothing to do with having ticker, it's all about smarts, skill and execution under pressure.
  8. Harmes, Bugg, Hannan almost invisible, and ANB with 14 disposals but at 43% efficiency. Alongside that, the majority of the team with under 10 possessions, including Viney, Watts and Lewis. If we lose this, only ourselves to blame, especially when Collingwood have come to play. This year still a step too far I fear, though no Hogan (it shouldn't be just for Garlett and Petracca, and Tom MacDonald is not a KPF) and no Max are having major negative ramifications on our structures and overall game plan.
  9. Not playing well, but in front. Plenty of room for improvement. Possibly. Still too many players with unreliable disposal: Hannan, ANB, Bugg etc.
  10. Great to see these longer-term injured returning. That's the 2 Smiths back on deck (more or less), plus Gus, Spencer, Gawn - and hopefully Hogan. Injury/out list starting to look a lot less consequential.
  11. One of the (small) positives in those stats is the 2 goals to Stretch. Plapp commented last week that it was a shame that he hadn't finished off his work (3 points I believe). Also, handy game from Weiderman. Big second half of the season ahead? Perhaps this is where the baptism of fire in the AFL starts paying dividends.
  12. VDB is the one we could have used.
  13. The partnership/sponsorship goes a lot further than just getting bums on seats at a footy game, and ranges across health and social initiatives, leadership training, business conferences, tourism (of course), and in general doing what advertising and promotion always does: raising profile. If any of the latter help bring jobs and revenue to the NT, it's money well spent. Not to mention, all governments put money into sport, and this is no exception.
  14. Oscar McDonald: 11 x 1% ers. Double anyone else in the team. THAT'S why he's playing. He's ranked 4th in the AFL for average 1%'ers per game. Does he need to improve other aspects of his game? Absolutely. But stop looking at what he doesn't do, and look instead at what he DOES do. The rest will come.
  15. Main difference first/second half was swapping Tom Mac and Pedersen (ruck/forward). Tommy is not a forward.
  16. Can't get Hogan and Gawn (or even Spencer) back quick enough.
  17. Just to say re. Watch AFL, it can be done through the club for around that price ($215) as part of the International Membership package. Also just to say, was around half that going back a couple of years, it's only in the last 2 years that the price has reached this level. Good service though, watch whatever you want, wherever you want, however you want, and includes some of the footy shows, highlights etc. as well. They also have an App, which works well.
  18. Billy Stretch: "He was strong in the air and around the ball, and gave us a lot of drive. ... After spending a few weeks back in the VFL, he made a bit of a statement on the weekend and he’s on the right track. We were happy with Billy." Alex Neal-Bullen: " Some kicking let him down in mid-forward connection – an area he’s working on, but his number suggested he had a dominant game, although he didn’t quite finish off some work at times ." Just saying.
  19. Looks good. Though slightly surprised to not see Stretch's name. Had a pretty good rap from Plapp, and he's a better disposer of the ball than any of those included.
  20. It's called an interview. Which all players from all clubs do. It's called promotion. If it bothers you, don't read it.
  21. Smith would need a couple of weeks at Casey at least.
  22. Ball use has always been his main weakness. Neither skilled nor smart.
